Copying content to another computer

Morning all,

I want to move TRS2006 to another computer. Over the past months we've downloaded quite a lot of stuff from the DLS, and have some layouts of our own.

Can someone please tell me...is there a quick/simple way to copy content from 1 machine to another (e.g. by copying folders/files), or does the job have to be done via Content Manager?

If the latter, I assume it's a straight forward task, but never having done this before, can I get some instructions &/or notes of things to watch out for?

Thanks,

Nige

All your content is located in your Local Folder. (C:\Programs Files\Auran\TRS2006)

Copy this folder and then burn it on a disk. All content will be saved.

To be on the safe side:
Take all your route and make them CDP Files for extra safety.

Cheers,
Adam

Thanks Adam...

...but which sub-folder to \TRS2006 is it in? I am assuming in \local, which then has hundreds of randomly-named sub-folders?

2 more questions...

- When I copy all that lot to the new installation, will default content be duplicated as it'll already be there?

- Do I have to 'activate' the content in CM in the new installation for it to be recognised...how do I do this?

Cheers,

...so...do these...

 ...Hello Elf man,

Copy all your files, to a hardrive...the're cheep, and 3 to 500 MB, are a good idea for everything you have.

Install you TRS of choice, if working with CMP, install the content to...

File C:.

You get quicker response there, that your Program Files!

I navigate from CMP, to the program, and back, with typical speed of a computer...

If you transfer files from TRS2004 to TRS2006, you have to make sure you have all the files...I lost several .gs files in that process...you will note that in game, if you get error boxes upon adding assets into your game.

Search the old files, add missing files to your TRS2k6 files, using CMP.

Thanks...but I still don't know which folders to copy over, or what I will need to do (if anything) to 'activate' the content so I can use it on the new system?
