A route i had been working on a few years ago will not show all the assets in edit route mode but it will in session mode, is there any way to convert the session back to a route so the route can be completed.

Under the layers tab find the 'merge' button and merge the session layer(s) into the route layer. That will put everything that should be on the route where it belongs but leave session-specific stuff where it needs to be....
