Could someone tell me this problem please?, when I start CMP it just freezes and at the bottom of the window it says "Please wait, Applying filter".

For how long? When first installed, TS2010 content mangler defaults to "All" for the filter, meaning it needs to look at 184,000 assets to make a list, so the first time takes several minutes. Try clicking something like the "My Content" tab and see if that loads.

Thanks sniper,,,,,,,I tried all that with no luck Im afraid,,in the end I had to take back my comp to a prev install and therefore lost all my work.
These things happen and half the time I expect it which makes it easier when it does,
But dont stop giving help cos we all do from time to time.

I had the same problem,,,directX from 2009 solved the issue,,my content manager would not come up at all,,,you can find it at the microsoft sight.

Thanks guys,,,like a dolt I forgot and reinstalled my drive that had the backups,,,,,,,,,,,,,what a plonker. I wont do that again,,,,,now where have I heard that before.
