Content for Denver, Colorado

I have just been starting on a route that includes the Denver, Colorado downtown and metro areas. I need some content that will make the city look realistic (buildings, important places), but haven't really found anything that could work. I need mostly important objects like buildings that are close to the tracks that look like the real thing (like normal industries, or Coors Field and Union Station, ect.).

Any ideas,
Alex

Try over at Train Pro Routes on their download server, search for "dmdrake".... they have several "City" sets that represent the flavor of several US cities.

Also try looking at his website Tall Trees And Boardwalk Railroad

Look under the following headings (Note: a lot of his stuff is on the DLS, you can use the listings here as a sort of catalog):

TPR Sandpatch

Durango and Silverton

Building and structure series

Cityscape

Cityscape splines

TPR Citystreets splines and blocks

Citystreets - American cities

A series of Austrailian and New Zealand buildings

There are some Denver buildings to be had, some others may be very close and merely need a name change or a nice sign to cover up the old name. Follow his EULA and a reskin is possible. Also there are those out there that have experimented with adding seasonal textures to these buildings, a seach of the forum will net you some info.

Also, DMDRAKE has 2 kuids to look under, 33404 and 99446 look on the DLS and the download station tab in cmp. On the DLS pages, remember to check the 2004 box,as most of his content was made for the version.

Look in the Google 3d Warehouse, there are several there you can import into sketchup and then export to trainz.

I echo what Socal said.

Unless you are a competent content creator, I would pass on anything in the Google warehouse. Sketchup has NO sort of control for the number of polygons used to make an object. The only way to fix this would be to export the sketchup item to 3ds, in which case you are going to end up rebuilding a lot to get the poly count down. There are a few individuals here who are doing it, but it sounds like it isn't the easiest thing to do.

The more polygons an asset has, the more rendering power is needed. A high polygon asset will slow the game to a crawl.
