I have tried using build-in dual or double track to lay out my mainlines. The problem comes when I want to attach a single track to one of the lines. It won't attach. Is there a more forgiving double track main spline that will allow single track to be attached?
Single track will only join at the ends of the spline and not in the middle. You may find that single track is better to use than multi track as you cant straighten multi track.
Thai1On: You can attach and make a switch to dual track, but first you have to add a spline point..You can do this in surveyor, track tab, advanced, add spline button, then click on the track where you want it..But alot of guys do prefer single Track for the reason stated above and you can make a switch where ever you want..
Personally, I find it easier to lay double track, align it more or less how I want it then delete it one section at a time and replace it with single track. It,s an easy way for us lazy people to do the track spacing quickly.

Track spacers are definitely the way to go (in my humble opinion), I use the AJS one's on my routes, they keep the track neat and tidy, find them in the objects list.
Maybe the track spacers may be the trick I need. So what is the average spacing on an American class 1 railroad in the late 30's or early 40's? I did a check for the AJS spacers but no luck.
They are called something I can't remember right now (I'm getting old)
Try searching for Andi06 as the Author on the DLS, it really is bugging me that I cannot remember the nme of them, yet I use them all the time. DOHH
