Hi Klinger:

Hi trainzsam:

Not that I know of. I just checked and both in and out counts are at zero. My normal e-mail is:

Try that.

Ben

P.S. I'm working on a center swing span that was on the White Pass & Yukon. Should get uploaded today or tommorrow. Only ng moveable bridge I know of. If any of ya'll have info on others I'd appreciate it (hint hint hint) unless your planning on making it your self that is.

i have a picture of a loco in chama i can help anyone who needs info on the C.A.T.S i can give it to you

sounds like the C&TS is in desperate need of extra funding

i think one locomotive is (of the ones that they actually use) is out of service last i say (several years ago) and it was one of the K-28s

C&T doesn't have any K-28's. Only the D&S has them. The last operating K-37 was on the C&T. It is #497, but it needs repairs. And, I don't think it is on the priority list. I think you'll see the #463 back in service before you'll see a K-37. The #463 only needs some repairs done on the side rods I believe.

Regards,
Todd

The C&TS DOES have one and RUNS IT! #497!

The C&TS "ran" it. Currently 497 has been out since 2002, and needs a massive rebuild. Unfortunetly, 497 won't steam again for quite some time, as there is no funding available for such a restoration. It is my understanding that it would be much cheaper to restore the 492, which has been out of service since the late 1960's, before the 497.

The only reason the C&TS got the 497 was it was a D&S locomitve for about 10 years. In October 1991, the C&TS and the D&S traded engines; The D&S had Operable K-37 #497. The C&TS had out-of-service(since 1962) K-36 # 482. They traded, and both steamed for years after.

Another website to check on current statis of C&TS locomotives is,

This website is updated weekly...usually.

Thing is though, 495 at the C&TS seems in a lot better condition than 492, but that's my opinion.

K-27 463 is out of service right why don't they have it shipped to durango and bring it back to service and have it run thier for awhile, and 315's restoration is nearing completion. right now 464 is the only operating K-27, thier are steam engines all over america that are rusting away C-16 278 is just roting away and what about 223 is anyone going to help them out. only a couple of the engines on the C&TSRR are running and 463 is the oldest on their line and right now it's just sitting at the end of a sidding in antonio. speaking of narrow guage thier is an engine at the henry ford and greenfield village in dearborn mich. it is number 3 a mason bogie built in 1873 and is curently 132 years old and it still runs it is a 0-6-4 if some one could make this engine it would be nice one other thing its called the torch lake and was a narrow gauge engine 3ft but was converted to standerd guage so it could run at the village its not very fast top speed i'd have to say is 30mph so if some one could make it for trs2004 it very very good.

j0yes:)

Hopefully 463 will return to steam soon, as she is my favorite narrow gauge locomotive!

verry pretty Klinger;)

I believe that 492 looks in worse condition because they had pulled the asbestos off of her and primed it (I'm not positive on that but I read it somewhere :p ). It would be great to have a K-37 running again, but I think 463 would be more of a thrill to see.

Someday I really want to get to see 464. :p :D

Actually, the 497 earned it's two nicknames very well...
It's been called "The Pig"because of how much coal it consumed. It's also been known as "Frankenstien" because most parts on the 497, came from the 492, 494, and 495.

The reason the 492 is the better canadite for rebuild (according to C&TS employee) because the engine was involved in an "accident" on the D&RGW in 1963. The engine was rebuilt from parts that came from the now scrapped 490. The engine returned to service that following year (to my knowledge) and only ran for 4 years after its rebuild, and it hasn't steamed since.

Beleive it or not, the 492 was sapose to go into the shops before the 463, but after an FRA inspection, the 463 needed less work than what was originally thought.

Here's some information on the 492's maintnence over the years....
