Big improvements are coming for CMP. Some are already implemented with Trainz Classics 3 and further fixes/improvements are being implemented with TS2009.

Meanwhile. there are a number of people who have problems with CMP where it is telling them to enter their serial number. The problem often relates to having two Planet Auran accounts and entering the username and password for one account whilst the serial number is registered to a different Planet Auran account. To solve the problem follow these steps:

1. Log into you Planet Auran account and check that you have a serial number registered.
2. Ensure the same Username and password are entered in CMP
3. If you have the wrong details or have forgotten email addresses etc, if you cannot sort it out through auto-password requests etc, then please send a form into helpdesk at: http://www.auran.com/helpdesk/

Hopefully will include the option for people to use it without any reference to the download station whatsoever (there must be many who only want to make content without downloading, and need to commit and extract content, or maybe don't have an internet connection but wish to make routes, etc).

In my case I only use ftp, on dial up,Vista, and do not want it to try and connect anyway.
With CMP classics 1/2 it started locking up making classics unusable as its integrated.

But have ordered classics 3 so will see what happens then.

Thanks

Barry

Before CMP came along, you could double click on a .cdp file and learn a little bit about the asset in the .cdp before deciding to go ahead and install it. Now, with CMP, double clicking on a .cdp file launches CMP and installs the asset. This means that you can no longer browse a directory of .cdp files that you have downloaded over the years to select things to install.

Hello

CMP is continuing into Trainz™ Simulator 2009.;)

more user friendly hopefully.

Hi Will. It is a quick fix for many people and yes the helpdesk is working (getting through the new backlog quickly).

It's amazing. Do you just troll this forum looking for a chance to bash CMP? Please read Tony's post again. He said:

1. CMP has been improved in TC3 and further improvements are planned for TRS09.

2. There is a "Quick Fix" for people having problems NOW with CMP because they have two Auran login names and the passwords have been confused.

Give it a rest please. I think anyone who has spent more than 10 minutes reading this forum knows how you feel about CMP.

William

With respect Tony, CMP needs more than a quick fix. :D

regards,
Mike.
Tony, I'm glad to see someone from Auran actually taking notice of Trainz users' concerns.
IMHO, when it is working as intended, CMP works excellently and is easy and user-friendly. And so is CCP. EXCEPT that it hangs up due to excessive CPU usage, which makes everyone hate it. Would you tell us why Auran doesn't perceive this as a problem?
Thanks,
Mick Berg.
PS I'm looking forward to the day when I can stop endlessly whining about this!

Ah the joys of forum moderation :)

IKB: Please read the first sentence of my original post. Big changes are coming for CMP. Step 1 is to help users who can't use CMP at all to get it configured correctly. Then we move on with fixing the remaining issues (most of which requires code updates which will be implemented for TS2009.

Meanwhile, I suggest that once a point is made regarding a topic that you try to refrain from continually making the same point over and over again.

Mick - CCP has had some significant improvements made for TC3 and more to follow for TS2009.

Thread being locked.
