Why are my options to view the asset in surveyor, driver, and rail yard grayed out?

Good point but I've never been able to use this feature in CM for any assets. Including error free assets.

Any ideas?

I have a theory

My guess is this was an initial concept that grew too complicated in development for some reason, but was probably not worth the effort to remove from the menu. (it does nothing for me either)

I'm curious. Does it launch Trainz or do you already have Trainz running?

It lanches trainz. When you exit it then it relanches cmp.

To be specific, it launches Trainz Railyard .

I've tried both way with Trainz running and with it not running but the menu options are always grayed out. I just can't get it to work.

If it has errors it will not let you. Does any rolling stock show up? Also could be a 2009 thing. looking at your screen shot, it looks as if you have a lot for items with missing depencies.

Missing or broken dependencies will keep an asset from showing up in Railyard (and Surveyor).

Also note that the view in option will only normally be available for locomotives (and possibly rolling stock), routes, and sessions.
