Clean Install w/ Service Pack 1: Corrupt Database PROBLEMS

I have to say, this has not been a smooth installation of software for me. At all. Buyers beware! I purchased the online download; it was corrupted and would not install successfully.

So I purchased the DVD, it arrived weeks later... installed last night, but the software was buggy as hell. It crashed several times within a couple hours. So I went online and after wrestling with the login and registration for about an hour, I finally downloaded the Service Pack 1 thinking maybe some bugs were addressed.

Service Pack 1 installed; but now the game won't load. "Corrupt Database" - so it tells me to run Content Manager and it will repair it automatically. Wrong. It doesn't do anything "automatically". AND the Content Manager isn't successfully logging me in per the registration information entered.

I'm just feeling very frustrated right now. I guess I will try a clean install and start over and see what happens. Anyone considering buying the software - just be careful and contemplate the issues I've described.

Yeah, when you hit the 2009 icon, then the menu opens you have choose "content". When CM2 opens you choose File, then either quick or extended database repair.

I might be missing something , but is this TS2009 which has an SP1 patch or is it possibly an earlier version , TRS2006 , which also has an SP1 patch ?

The CM2 database repair (especially the fiirst time), takes some time to "collect its thoughts".

It will do it (eventually) and it will tell you. If you try to run Trainz beforehand, then it will fall over (or simply not start).

Have dinner, a glass of your favourite beverage, then come back to it.

He mentioned downloading the program which AFAIK implies TS2009.
