Cityrail 2007/2008

I can get some pics of Gosford Station cause I live very close to the station!!!

That would be helpfull to me as I am doing the Newcastle to Gosford side with DEM data. So if you could get some pictures of everything it would help in making the station model.

Cheers Daniel

Hi dog_1111,

That would be great. I have some shots of the Gosford Station area but none of the station itself. Also a couple of shots of a Tangara would be great if one should happen along while you are snapping away with your camera. My email address is available on my blog or you can private message me and I will send it to you there.

Cheers
Roy

Yes... I go as far north as Gosford....... I decided not to go to Newcastle......... that would make the project impossible to cpmplete.

Well you can have V1 to Gosford and V2 w/ a NewCastle Extension. Of Course this is too good for low end PC's ;)

That is true and always a possibility.

With low end PC's , I am creating this project with low end machines in mind. For example, the first version of the Harbour Bridge was very hard on machine resources where as the latest version has little if any impact while driving a train through that area.

I found that some items on the DLS seem to bring Trainz to a near halt at times. I am assuming that is because they are high on polygons. The models I am making are designed for minimal polygons while keeping the look I am after. Hopefully this gives the result at the end of the day I am looking for.

Well done on your project mate everything i have seen so far looks just like it is in real life.

I for one can not wait for this to be complete, Have been waiting for a Sydney route to be done and this is going to be it.

Keep up the good work mate :)

Thanks NorthShore,

I am making some good progress on it now and am currently creating the building skyline down at Circular Quay. This will be viewed as you cross over the bridge.

Tangara work has started and going well. Will release more news on the Tangara T-set and G-sets soon.

I know that other people are working on Sydney projects too. I just want to say that I hope they keep on working on their projects. Over the years I have heard people stop their work because they were waiting for mine to finish. I want to discourage people from stopping their own creations. Everyone has a unique way of creating routes for Trainz and it would be good if there were several versions of Sydney routes around, many versions of Tangaras and other NSW rail stock.....etc

I see I have dropped from a 5 star rating to 2 stars on this thread...... and am taking note of the drop in satisfaction. I know the screenshots have been average at best but these will improve 100% in the coming months. At the moment more time is being spent on creating custom models for the project and this is needed before screenshots of "entire" areas can be shown here.

The first detailed screenshots of one area will be previewed in the coming weeks. This is the Chatswood area which is having a complete makeover in the project. What you will see of Chatswood in the project will be the station and surroundings as it will be seen at the end of 2007 when construction work finishes...... and not how it looks now.

These small pictures are some of about 80 pictures I am using to create the still to be completed Chatswood Station.

I can't wait for the route to be finished I am trying to make my own but its to long to make for me and I will search for some pics of the Tangara on the net LOL.

Stage 1 of 3 of the Tangara T-set for Cityrail 2007/2008.

This stage of the train has only basic textures and no details whatsoever.

However, it will soon be replaced by photo-realistic textures and much better details such as the roof and pantograph. By stage 3 of the Tangara, this train will have a photo-real Tangara cab added to the train, as soon as I work out what I need to do to build the Cab view seen in Trainz.

Work is being done on both the T-set and G-set versions of the Tangara.

Will they have passenger capabilites

At this stage, Version 1 of the Tangara will not be passenger enabled. Version 2 however will be passenger enabled and have some other features I will be looking into.

That would be great if you could achieve that. I am looking at the Tangara doors opening and closing at stations but as yet don't know how to do this...... but i will figure this out.

A scene at Lavender Bay which is about half a kilometre west of Milsons Point Station and north of the Luna Park site.

This shot shows the new track and ballast I have decided to use in the project.
