Chris Sprague {Nawlins} died last March

A heart attack so it was quick.

Chris was one of the American immigrants from Lancashire UK who was an engineer who helped build ships in New Orleans.

His contributions to trainz is probably unrecognised by many but he did a lot of beta testing both for myself and many others. In fact most of my content was beta tested by him. He did many of the screenshots as well. So he is responsible for improving the quality of assets on the DLS in addition the the content he created himself.

Additionally he was a member of the content repair group.

He will be missed.

I note that he had been a Trainz user since at least 2003, had over 280 items on the DLS (70 of which I had installed) and, as you mentioned, was a member of the CRG.

That's sad news indeed and my heart goes out to his family.

Chris last posted in the CRG sub forum in early March that his health had improved and was looking forward to contributing again.

He was a prolific repairer and tester for the CRG and must have repaired 100's, if not 1,000's, of assets for the Trainz community. He will be missed both as a friend and valued member of the wider Trainz community.

This is a big hit the community.
Nawlins was a humongous help behind the scenes. He did more work for the Content Repair Group (CRG) than most (if not all) other members. Many of us are enjoying the older assets today because of the work he did.

As Paul wrote, we knew he was struggling with his health for some time. I am sorry we had to find out months after his silent disappearance It is unfortunate he has not recovered. I hope he is in a better place now.

Chris is going to be much missed. As one of the founders of TCWW he seemed to quietly get on with things in the background. As one of the more recent members of TCWW I was aware of the work he did with checking things over before they were sent on to the DLS and it was only later that I discovered his sizeable contribution to the DLS as well as the work he'd done on a number of top quality UK routes.

His services to Trainz were immense, and his name seemed to be at the very core of things when I first started here, although it was a while before I understood its derivation.

Working with him on a couple of projects was most enjoyable - even when he inveigled me into trying things that I considered way outside my comfort zone....

But that is what I meant, our parents are gone ...

It's when you read the obits and realize they are talking about people from your own generation and not those "old" people that you sit up and wonder "where did all the years go?"
Just goes to show that some people can stay in the relative background but still provide terrific support. Condolences to his family and those who knew him.
