Checkrail.com status?

½ an hour ago there was still access to it, though without downloads. Andy is probably just in the process of reinstalling the site with downloads.

You nailed it Nickie, the other guys hit the site while it was totally down. I chose to take the opportunity to totally clean the site up. Over time a lot of rubbish accumulates, old temporary links, old page buttons and that sort of thing. I keep an exact copy of the site locally and a quick rebuild is jut upload the lot, but this time I thought I'd do it right, but the index page was down longer than I'd hoped.

All the screenshot pages are back up and pretty sure everything is working. The downloads will go back as soon as pos, but it's going to take a day or two. I will do my best to honour the '24 hour' promise for EVWR, but it might drag out to 36......

I don't know if it was some sort of cyber extortion you fell victim of, Andy, but whatever it was I'm glad to hear you got things sorted. If nothing else came out of this racket, you got some pretty fine PR :) I had never heard of your site or your routes before, but seeing those screenshots makes me all :udrool::mop:. Great work! :Y:

BTW, I hope this wasn't directed at me: I'm fed up with content so poly and graphics heavy it just can't be used at all.

Okay - here's the total upside.
I finally figured out EXACTLY what's been going on, the 'who'and 'why' and it's (a) laughable and (b) damn sad that this sort of 'politics' is invading Trainz but.....
[drumroll]Checkrail will be back to normal INCLUDING the FREEWARE EVWR1 within 24 hours.[/drumroll]
For the cynics among us this wasn't a dummy-spit, it wasn't an attention-getter, it was cunning, calculating manipulation that I almost fell for.
I'm back, and if you think EVWR1 is gonna be good - wait till you see EVWR2, it already kills it.....

-Andy, whatever you choose is your decision. To me this is a hobby, not a job and should be to all. We're all here cause we enjoy Trainz, sharing and trains. Just ignore the kiddies. If they want something bad enough, they can learn a program and make it themselves (like I did). Best of luck to you and hope that the B*** S*** didn't drive you out of the sim to Rail Works or somewhere else.

Yup....Just like I say

Andy.....You were pretty much my inspiration on making routes.....People like you are the ones that make these train sims come real....If it were not for you with all the great talent you have, this sim I would think would be dead....Your routes are amazing thats all I can say....And thats all I have to say about that......I hope in the future things work out for ya and for the best....This is not a job, this is not something you should be pressured on on doing, this is for your fun and enjoyment where 1, we cant work for the railroad and 2, we cant have a layout in our house and this is the closest we can get to them 2.....So Andy....Enjoy it, dont stress over the things that do go on...Blow it off and just keep on chugging in notch 8...Dont let NO ONE DERAIL YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And stop worrying about the Death threats. They can't do a thing to you. (Hint= Australian Postage is ridiculous. So are Airline tickets.:hehe:)

This thread has caused nothing but problems for me. It'd been a while since I ran the Clovis route, but since this thread stated, I fired it up and can't get away from it :)
