Changing the Bell Sound

Is it possible to change the bell sound of a locomotive WITHOUT changing the horn sound? I'm asking because I would like to replace the bell sound of one particular horn with another.

Open the hornsound kuid for edit in explorer and delete the existing bell sound (filename=idle1.wav) and replace with the one you like. Then save and commit.

Thanks. However, wouldn't it be easier to just copy and paste a bell sound file then replace it?

The bell sounds and the horn (or whistle) sounds are all in the same kuid file which is referenced in the locos config.txt file as:
hornsound kuid:xxxx:xxxxx

If you replace you existing hornsound kuid for one that has the desired bell sound, you'll also get a new horn sound.

Thanks. I know it's been a few months, but does it have to be a specific file type? I'm asking because I tried it, but nothing came out and I'm thinking it's because it has to be a .wav file, and not a .mp3 file. Can you please confirm or deny this?

Easiest file format is *.wav with characteristics "MONO, 16 bit, 22050 samples/sec". This works for all Trainz sounds.

Thanks. But now I have another problem: every time I press the "B" key to play the bellsound, nothing comes out for some reason with the new bell sound. Can you please help me fix this?
