I had recently removed Gmax from my laptop but I decided to download it again but this time its telling me I need to insert a CD-ROM to install. I never have needed a CD-ROM so what does this mean?

I got my version of GMax from Turbosquid and installed it without a problem. Maybe your download is not complete or is corrupt so the installation files is asking for a CD to locate missing files? Delete what you have downloaded and get a fresh download and try a fresh install

Curious this is as my copy of Gmax wants to install Fraps. Which is strange. It was downloaded from Turbosquid also. Any ideas guys??

It still didn't work. This is the message

Hmm, don't know if this is helpfull, but if I remember correctly MS Flightsimulator 2002 professional came with Gmax on CD-Rom.
Could it be somehow you've downloaded that version?

That's surprising - I'm guessing that the reason it didn't appear to do so on mine is I've probably already got Fraps installed.

Sometimes on these installers (especially ones that use OpenCandy) there is an option to prevent installation of extras.

Thats the problem Shane. I already have Fraps installed, which is rather puzzling. I'll have to have a look at my registry to see if something is amiss.

Decided to use a registry cleaner and reinstall Gmax. Surprise it worked. Not to get down to some asset creating. It was definately a registry problem for me.Hope it works for others.
