Can't install downloaded layouts

I can't seem to install downloaded layouts. The item downloads OK, but when I try to install it I get a Content Dispatcher warning "Unable to find required username tag in package".
Anyone have any ideas?:'(

What version of Trainz are you running , and what layout are you trying to download ?

Dave: I am using the same version of TRS 2004 that I have been using for three years. I am trying to install HarborMaster 1b and Austral Bay v5a. Austral Bay was to be a fresh install because my machine crashed during a run in my previous Austral Bay v5a install.

Phil: I couldn't find a "yes" box ?

Have you tried downloading and installing the routes directly using the Download Helper? It should install the routes and associated content directly into TRS with no trouble.

P.S. I misread your original post and thought the problem was something else. I'm sorry, my eyes are tired.

I can certainly assure you that the name tag is in the package.

Do you have any other versions of Trainz installed - TC/06/09?

How did you get the cdp files? As Enkidoh states, Download Helper for TRS2004 will capture the route and all the dependencies.

The missing username tag thing is common in cdp's downloaded from third party web-sites. The tag is not 'required' and it's absense is in no way detrimental. Just click past the 'warning'....

What you say is certainly true.

But, as far as I'm aware, even if my two routes were being hosted on other sites they should still have the tags. Unless, of course, someone has edited it out somehow.

I tried them and the only one that worked was from Enkidoh using download helper.
Maybe I will have a lot of free time and can re-visit this problem some day..
Untill then, I will be using download helper.:wave:

I recommend registering your product first. Without registration, you will receive limited support in the forums and will not be able to download anything from the DLS.

Please tell us exactly what's going on.

Can't access the DLS?

Check that you have a good connection to the internet which isn't blocked by antivirus and/or a firewall.

If any of these issues are present, this will cause problems 99% of the time.

hi John, yes was able to access DLS, connection was good, no antivirus problems, or my firewall. I have downloaded some steff before with not many errors. I will try one that I know should download and get back here

yes did recheck still the same, then reloaded tr12 in a separate drive, that will not down load either from the dls just comes up pink in that.
with tane will try and incert a pic ok that did not work ok may have to send in on a ticket again

hi in desparation after going through all the reports on how to fix. I went to my profile I know my name and emaile were ok and i also knew that my password was good
so I went and did a renew passwoerd, I put in the exact same pass word logged out and reloged in, went to the launcher and then opened up manager and then to DLS and tryed downloading a small item
guess what it worked.
so getting a bit more adveturus I went to the fingal line that i wanted and hit the down load, !!!! yes it worked and is as this moment still downloading.
