Can't Extend Layout

My Christmas present to me was going to be a few boards added to my current working-very-well layout, but every time I try to add a new board it just boops at me. I then created a new route and tried to add a board. That worked fine.

Any suggestions. please?

Edit: I have just found that two earlier versions of the same route accept additional boards. The "faulty" version doesn't appear to be noticeably different apart from the additional scenery which is the reason for the new versions. It seems to work just as well as the earlier versions in Drive mode.

Mystery not solved but the problem has gone away!

Since posting the above I tried Editing the Route, then exiting the game without saving, several times without success. Then I had a mince pie and decided to give up adding the boards for today, but then gave it one more go - and it worked!

Therefore the solution is a Waitrose mince pie.

I'm glad you solved that with a delicious mincemeat pie. You know what that means? You'll have to stock up on Waitrose mincemeat pies and keep them around for when you extend your routes.

You mentioning this, brought some tears to my eyes. I haven't had one of those in ages even if it isn't from Waitrose since we don't have that chain across the pond. My mum used to make delicious ones for the holidays and it's another thing that has gone with her.
