can't download

Can you check that the TS2012\UserData\cache\internet is actually getting emptied and there is nothing in it prior to today or yesterday if you haven't run Trainz today. If there is delete the lot.

Haven't seen this mentioned but I'm guessing Win7 and I'm assuming you have set Trainz up to run as Admin, otherwise the password probably wouldn't work either, so tried turning the UAC off to see if its that interfering?

Plus maybe run a disk check, that solved a problem I had with the password not sticking a while back.

Okay, there was still stuff in the cache directory, so I flushed the lot of it. OS is 64-bit Win 7 Pro SP1 running on an Intel i7-3930 K CPU with 8 GB of RAM. Trainz and all its sub-programs are set to run as admin, and it turns out that I have been running for some time now with UAC switched off. I ran the disk check, but it came up clean, and unfortunately, the problem is still persisting. BTW, I also tried installing the program on my laptop a while back, (my main machine is a desktop) but the problem exists on the latop as well.

Running out of ideas here. Testing the ping is probably a good idea.

What sort of internet connection is it? not satellite or 3g by any chance? Wired or Wireless? If there is anything connecting through the USB port check the OS isn't turning it off to save power, same for the lan connection.

Connection is coaxial cable from the wall to the APC UPS for surge protection, then coaxial cable to the SMC cable modem/router, and finally ethernet cable from the modem to the computer. For the laptop it is the same, except it goes wireless from the modem to the laptop. Thanks again to all of you for your help here. :)
