cannot install trainz 2010 EE

got trainz 2010 for xmas attempted to install yesterday. once i got to the user information screen in the install wizard it asked for the serial number. I couldnt locate the software serial number in any of the locations suggested by the topics-ent.com suppout page. software also didnt come with manual.

Your best bet is to contact wherever you got it from, as it is useless without the serial number (which is required for installation etc)

Make sure they haven't just attached it as a sticker in the case.

checked inside case, no sticker. checked inside outer pacakaging, no luck.

Serial number is on the back of the manual, which is why you can't find it I guess. Not another purchase off Amazon by any chance?

Sorry to have to tell you this, but your best solution is to return the game to the retail source for refund or exchange. You may need to contact them first in order to get permission for the return. The game will not install without the key code.

Once you're all installed and registered, be sure to apply the patches manually.

Phew, bet that's a relief.

Just in case if Win7 or Vista make sure you install as Administrator by right click the setup, Run as Administrator. Do the same when running it and patching.
Patching can take a long time and appear to stop, whatever you do don't cancel it or you will end up having to reinstall.

You can set it up in permanently in the shortcut properties.
