Canadian Rocky Mountains 2011

thanks you to Ed, Bob n Bekaember

thanks for the kind words and visiting my thread.
This week its river and creek works all the way Revelstoke, see how far we get on this one.

regards

Roy;)

The river shots almost looks real. Are thes trees payware?? And the textures are 1024 or 2048?? Very good shots

Greetings

Amazing ... brings back memories of my time in Alaska ... With textures ... who need water ?

Are you doing the BC-Kicking Horse Pass-Spiral Loops route, Fraser to Lake Louise ?

It would be interesting to see what the tunnels in your screenshots would have looked like, in the days before the RR "Daylighted" the old tunnels.

Stunning shots Roy. Your commitment to this route makes it about as good as it is possible to get...

Andy ;)

thanks Ivantr

Yes the river is doing well enough to continue it all the way to Revelstoke:hehe:
The trees are different:
  1. ultra treez around Golden and the golf course over there are payware and 4 seasons. Only the winter version is poor very poor in any speedtree version for fps reasons. Payware
  2. JVC jankvis stuff mostly grass and weeds and brushes some trees. Most payware I use but freeware available too. no 4 seasons!
  3. Pofig all freeware no 4 seasons but overall best results ion fps and look and feel.
  4. Pofig trees compensates for missing fall and or winter version at this moment.
  5. Yes textures are 1024x2048 and this runs in 2010 and 2012. Also in 2006 but not backwards compatible so only the version i started this project years ago:hehe:
Thanks for the very nice comment and visiting.
If you like it I can only advise to make the move to TS12 the best release ever. Yes as always there are bugs but no version is without it.

hasta pronto amigo por tu version TS12:cool:

Hi my friend Cascaderailroad

thanks but i see you are prone to memory glitches:hehe::hehe: .
Before i started this route section I had the winter version Field Calgary TRS 2006/Trs2009:hehe:/TS2010 version and did in that route my first big time speedtree tests. Yes the tunnels and other stuff need a texture revamp and replace most trees to pofigs but first finish this one.
I still have some stuff pictures/videos under my TRS2009 nickname pinkiepienter on youtube on in former threads of mine.
The route Field Calgary is most beautiful since I made Lake Louise and Banf full functioning ski resorts with ski doo and ski trails to follow you name it.
Lots of action and hidden surprises in all of my routes when finished.

I fully agree who needs water and more and more I try to avoid it but certain places where really cascading more or less i still use Cyberstorm stuff for some old fashioned trainz action.

Thanks again for visiting and I did put now brushes and grass and thicker tree around the area to get the closer feeling of the pict. (will post one later)

regards

Roy;)

Hi Andy

Stunning shots Roy. Your commitment to this route makes it about as good as it is possible to get...

Andy ;)

thanks Andy yes no one else (almost) like you knows what it takes in any business hobby is commitment and most of it patience and creativity.
EK3 to me now with pofig stuff looks much better and more alive.

Andy the creosote sleepers and track you are using now from Ukraine in EK3 looks superb.

That is what i need but I not want to give up the bolts and nuts fixing detail and switches detail which makes a route just that bit better only the concrete i have to deal with for the moment.

I guess by the time ready there will be a wooden sleeper version with detail switches I can use for the final touch.

I did PM olegkhim and kindly asked him but he not answer at all. Not very polite but that is his problem not mine. I move on and make my final choices when the time arrives to make that decision and in the worse case I take the same track you are using. Andy they not have detailed switches right?

If you or someone know of any fitting with the creosote smell sleepers let me know!!!

I saw in russian screenshots similar track and detailed switches from TimoDM working on his route but probably russian gauche.

By the way my project I work on goes from Vancouver all the the way into Calgary:cool:

Have a wonderful day

Roy;)

Hey josten. Your route will be a good add on for trainz. I like a lot the mountains and more the CEFX, CP Stack trains that runs on the snowed lands near rivers. I like a lot canada. I want to visit it one day
Keep up your great work

Un saludo

Abandoned tunnel found google earth

Roy,

In your 1st shot there, there seems to be a tunnel. Mind giving some background as to it's prior use?

Thanks,

Take care,

Ryan:wave:

Buffalo thanks for hopping in and this tunnel I found while using google earth and when available pictures to see real world. If the angle and view is right i use also the street view in the rural country as long as close to RR of course.
I did not check the history but from what i can see the cut the RR rock to make the 2 track RR and that is what "recently' xx years ago made the one track tunnel obselete.

Roy;)

ok a few more before leaving Canyon Hot Springs

see the difference with more brush and denser forest compare to google earth?

Hi Walt coming soon to a theater near you

thanks Walt for visiting and for the jaw correction lol:hehe: appreciated.
the route is getting really under control despite minor setbacks caused by little Ts12 bugs that bite pretty hard but not lethal:cool:

Hope I present Canada the way it is and the canadian dream thru trainz TS12

Have a wonderful day,

Roy;)

WoW ... you must have a million billion trillion trees ... absolutely amazing !:mop: :udrool: :mop:

When I was in Alaska, I inquired: "Why are all the pine trees flat topped" ? The answer: "Snowshoe hares tromp about on top of the 15'-20' snow pack, and the only thing sticking out for them to eat is the pine tree tops" !

And "Why do ground squirels run across the road with their tails held sticking straight up high" ? Answer: "So they don't get their tails run over" !

There are no snakes in Alaska, so if you see a brown Snow Snake ... it is not a snake at all.

Also there are no skunks in Alaska ... so if you smell a skunk ... get the heck outa there, as it is a rancid smelling Grizzle' Bear ! And you are a tempting Scooby Snack !

Of course that was in 1981 when the Black Rapids Glacier had retreated 14 miles. For way back in 1920 the Glacier threatened to cut off the highway. Today the snowfall is much less, and Spuce Beatles are devouring the trees, there is alot of dead forest near Anchorage and the Panhandle.

In Alaska, you can see in every direction for at least 125 miles on a clear day.

one day I will visit the entire region to see myself how far off.
I will visit you if ok:cool:
the only part i have visited a few times but short and for conventions only was Vancouver, beautiful city.
thought about moving there instead of Puerto Vallarta after 9/11 and moved from most beautiful TN river chickamauga lake where my house was.
Finally i moved to Thailand north East far away from civilisation and close to the Mekong River at the foot of the national park Phu Pan Mountains. No pollution no noise no whatever only nature and our animals and Trainz.

Wow thanks again for making my day. I really try to make it prototypical but many objects simply not exists and making thejm takes to much time and have to make the choice make the route Vancouver Calgary as good as i can or get stuck on to many details making models for objects.

have a wonderful day Walt and thanks again for visiting

Roy and Ning:wave:
