Canadian Rocky Mountains 2011

Yes my routes are all prototypical DEMS and of course building and scenery locations as good as it gets.
gradients switches carefully rotate the switch object it takes a lot of time and patience to make all work but eventually there is a light and speeding train in the tunnel. lol

Have a great afternoon !

i just wanted to say that i`m interested in the Rocky Mountains Route and Rocky Mountaineer train. I can`t look how do you running those repainted superliners on such beauty route and i decided to do the real Ultradomes.:)

Ivan

Ivan,

sorry just thought someone planted a post in wrong thread.
Well when you buy this route I will give you the rocky mountaineer too is that deal?;)

regards

Roy:cool:

Roy, I think what Ivan meant was he couldn't bear seeing you use that kind of rolling stock on such an excellent route and thus took it upon himself to create prototypical ones.

Cheerio,
Nicholas

:hehe:,

Ivan Nick,

you guys make my day.
I never felt so clumbsy as yesterday and now that is not me.....always read and write careful so my age must be troubling me. English I normally am proficient but it catches more and more on me translating in my brain rather than thinking in english. Get the point?
Well my ( i called quick and dirty) reskins of available dls superliner was the closest I could get ...the sd40-2 reskin took longer and not finsihed in the nitty gritty detail but not looks that bad you suggesting.
Well Ivan go for it it will take you some time for sure and look forward to the result. BTW the pulling engines are SD40-2.
Thanks Nick for helping out next time I try to be more careful before answering a post, you know what I mean.:o

Rocky Mountaineer cars

Hi Ivan:

Great to see that you are trying to prototype the Rocky Mountaineer. I hope that you might consider using the newer paint colors, patterns and logo. Below you can see an image that I took in 2012. They have built these wonderful double decker cars with windows that go right over the top, almost to the middle.

Farther back are the lower cars that you are already doing.

The second image is inside the car showing how the windows wrap around towards the middle.

With fine weather this truly is a great way to see the mountains and valleys along the way from Vancouver, BC to Banff, Alberta.

Cheers,

Derek

Slightly OT

Found an interesting video today of a trip on the CPR, in the cab of a modern GE diesel. Not sure if any of it is actually on the Mountain sub or not, because I can't find either of the named points from the title on a map, but some of the scenery from the video is eerily reminiscent of Roy's route ...

Thanks for this! I look forward to watching it. The video was taken out of Vancouver and points east on the CN Yale Sub and CP Cascade Sub. Both are a few subdivisions west of the Mountain Sub! However, as I understand it, Roy is intending to build the entire CP line between Calgary and Vancouver, so someday you might be running this in Trainz!

Well done Ivan

Sorry fo the offtop, just want to post link to my project thread. You can see the Ultradome here.:)

Ivan,

great job you start but still a lot of work ahead!
No sorry needed just want to keep this thread excluseively to the routes and related pictures real and virtual. Workshop and others we prefer to place in my other Thread of Roy's Trainz opens it doors.
Thanks Ivan for sharing and look forward to you become the next memeber of our community and run your trainz of preference on my routes!

Roy:cool:

G'day Roy and All, I just recently purchased CPR_Mountain_Sub and it is a fantastic route, Roy has been so helpful with a few problems I had and for this I thank him so much.
I reinstalled TS12 SP1 HF 1,2&3 for the fourth time just for this route as in the past I had sOOOOOO much trouble with it (SP1) but this time I went through the forums and looked at all the install problems, solutions and success stories and formulated a plan, the first part of the plan is "take it slow and THINK" I will start with a clean install from the TS12 disc's then do all of the patches and hot fixes, between each patch/hotfix I will do a EDR and restart the PC.
Cut to the chase, all went well (so far) and have not seen any of the issues I had before. I have installed the route and all went well with nothing missing or broken (great job Roy) and have run the route in quick drive from several directions and get good frame rate and quite smooth running (has occasional pauses but not bad), My PC is no ultra gamer and is let down by its video card:-
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460
DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC
Display Memory: 4051 MB
Dedicated Memory: 723 MB
Shared Memory: 3327 MB
Current Mode: 1920 x 1080 (32 bit) (60Hz)
I plan to upgrade along with increasing ram from the current 8gig to the MB's maximum of 16gig and a GeForce GTX 680 should boost performance.
Here are some screenshots including settings I have.

Barrie,
Thank your for posting and the really nice comments and share your short experience with us.
Good to hear all runs well and nothing missing or broken.
Sp1 hotfix3 driver is really fun to use and when you will upgrade the gtx 680 will be a superb choife. The 16gb ram not sure you need as i jotice mine never reaches more than 6gb when running a fe trainz windows simultaneously.
Talk more tomorrow little bit tired now from the replase asset bug testing of the route xxxgr. It seems to work much better offline and no more stutter and hickups but still cna if i want halt trainz so N3V you hafe a bug to solve and a big one it seems.
