Canadian Rocky Mountains 2011

Update: Here's what I have done to get SP1 working without problems: This may be drastic measures, but I have everything backed up off the computer to restore later. I am slowly adding my content back in, just in case, to see if anything new should to arise.
Complete uninstall of all TS12...
reboot...
install only TS12, no add-ons...
reboot...
installed SP1, then reboot...
Quick Database Repair, reboot...
finally Extended Database Repair...
then final reboot. And now, here's results.
Seems to be working. I thought I had problems with Mojave again.
Instead, it seems that it is just more restricted or locked down, as I don't remember there being a unlock feature required for the default built-in routes.
So, I selected edit route for Mojave, resaved as a new name (Mojave SP1 test)
Created a session, SP1 session test, and found that it carried over same properties as built in.
That's where I saw this unlock required to proceed with changes.
So, the original Jointed Rail issue seems to be alleviated. And just so every one is aware, there will be new WARNINGS, which can be safely ignored, that Content Manager 3.7 does extra checking to create these: Warning: Required container 'thumbnails' is missing. (this was there before, the others that follow are new to me)
Warning: The *.texture.txt file is missing for texture resource 'mesh_art/mesh_art_512.texture'.
Warning: The *.texture.txt file is missing for texture resource 'mesh_art/mesh_icon.texture'.
Warning: The *.texture.txt file is missing for texture resource 'mesh_shadow/black.texture'.
Warning: An asset must be specified for tag 'texture-kuid'.
Warning: An asset must be specified for tag 'texture-kuid'. Also, there is this, on a few items: Warning: The texture 'gp40_body/window.tga' is a uniform color.
Warning: The texture 'gp40_shadow/shadowblacktexture.tga' is a uniform color. Again, I would just ignore them, as they are just WARNINGS. There will be something that explains all this coming down the road, I am sure. Hope this helps alleviate some myths and questions.

My Computer is a SP1 free Zone.

Just so you and everyone else should know, a fresh install of TS12 without any added freeware or pay ware will have problems right away right after SP1 is installed. Specifically the Mojave route, which is Jointed Rail built, which shows the red and white bug, all locomotives are silent, cannot drive them. Heed my warning, if you want keep enjoying Canada uninterrupted.

Wow... talk about a scary SP1 patch. Yikes, I'm not touching that. Thanks for the update on a "pristeen" install pdkoester. I have been following the anguish that many have had in the General Trainz forum. Some people are finally reporting some success but IMHO it is way too early to look at this MONSTER. :n:

Roy, in your post #1320 the first two images (and especially the second) are amazing for the "drama" in the background mountains. Keep up the great work. :Y:

Well back to Canada and Roy's world.

The Canadian finally has a sunny Day again which the passengers in the Dome Car are really enjoying. Pass the Tea please! You can see a magnificent bluff on the mountain ahead.

Another beautiful river crossing in British Columbia.

The Canadian is winding along this beautiful river.

We are almost at the Eastern end of the tracks on this subdivision. Thankfully the weather is perfect today.

Your route is going in next, I just need the updated things that were mentioned, -OR-, go the way of the original, see what happens. Let me know.

do not dl the 1.0.4 one at the moment...... you can dl the 57720 3rd fix that's ok.
Go the way of the original and ignore grass faulty, I explain later why and let me know what happens.
Look closer if tunnels Mc Donald and Mc Connaught are still there (spline beetle) also iportals (spline beetle thing also)
thanks for checking.

Roy:eek:

Okay, I think I understand, just the 57720 fix in the third update. Right?

sad to say but this is not good for SP1

Paul, i feel really devastated especially after being questioned over and over again what error, what bug you know what i mena.
I just finished and can confirm officially SP1 has major flaws.

I now find out that the routes copied/imported whatever way into 57720 and all routes that have NO missing objects..... lose the 2 main tunnels Mc donald and Mc Connaught. Take th route now on the website it has all objects in there and no flaws load it into 57720 and see for yourself....IP iportals this time in tact....all major tunnels (2) gone but in the route dbase!
Take that same route and load it fresh in your 49922 version and see what i mean there all is fine everything shows.
It is about time these guys take us more serious and themselves even more when testing things in the real world called beta not the one's in house.

My day is a uniform black color one, my heart cries, yes i am a die hard trainzer with human feelings though.:'(:(

Test at Ross peak on the way to the new big tunnels in 57720 SP1

New test running from Viktor lake to Ottertail now reaching Ross Peak and soon the new tunnels.........

I could try to replace, what is the procedure? Last time I tried to replace something on a route, it would not select the first item to remove.

Hmm, I see what you mean about the pop-up grass. That is moderately annoying, although IMO not as disconcerting as the way the trees on the TS12 south China route grow more and longer branches as you get closer to them ... that gets a little spooky the first few times! :hehe:

No you not need to but for the fun of seeing the difference try replace assets command and replace the s301 m and o who have LOD's make the pop pop unfortunately show in driver pretty strong.I use now denser grasses than the original TS-2 one's which forces me to check 280 km track and delete grass grow in between track... so wait a little lit i will release this one next monthn incl things I discover as smaller repairs I seen when deleting the track......step by step now down the track big tunnels to Redgrave.
Today go west and see what i encounter.

For sure now I now OGL is the most save way to run SP1 DX has his glitches that makes you more than nervous.
Before they call me writing inflammatory again the Speedtrees in Dx when all vanished I remember the compass "pointer" in trainz DX became a huge bare fir tree looked funny in a no trees looking burned landscape.
Never (sofar) saw that glitch in OGL lucky.

picts. all OGL better and better ambiance.

Steve,

at this moment I run tests going West and tomorrow going E from the big tunnels. Double check all displaced track objects like signals markers etc where tunnels are replaced (that is a real flaw but nobody even confirm when i made this public with pict in my other thread SP1 how can.....)
The displace objects are not a bug but a flaw in the design of the command and network/spline/track definition.

The Canadian reaches the Eastern end!!

Well it's been a long trip, started December 8, 2012 in post #1112 in this thread, with screen shots just east of Revelstoke, BC. And here we are at the end of the journey Eastward.

Up ahead you can see the end of Roy's World.

This is our final view of the back of the beautiful Dome car at the back of the train.

The following image is not for the "faint of heart." It also proves that the Flat Earth Society (FES) is actually correct, at least in Roy's World. :hehe:

Well, it's been a fun journey over the last 4 months. I hope you have enjoyed some on the screenies that I have posted along the way.

The CPR railway is fundamentally important to the creation of this country Canada. Sir John A MacDonald was able to forge the creation of Canada between Upper Canada (Ontario), Lower Canada (Québec), the Maritime Provinces and British Columbia in the Pacific West by agreeing to build a trans Continental railway so the British Columbia joined the new union in 1867. MacDonald was afraid the BC might join with the Unitied States of America thus preventing his dream of a country spanning the Continent. MacDonald became our first Prime Minister.

The CPR Mountain subdivision is arguably the most spectacular part from an engineering point of view (although there are the Spiral Tunnels in Laggan). The Laggan Subdivision which travels through the Rocky Mountain Trench from Lake Louise past Banff and South to Canmore, Alberta is IMHO the most scenic part.

These screenshots are pre-SP1. I haven't taken the "plunge" yet. I think I'll try a fresh install of T12 etc. I have so many other routes in this install that I know it will "blow up" on me.

Cheers,

Derek

PS:

My condolences to my American neighbors for the string of bad things that have happened in the last few days. We are all feeling your pain in Canada too. We had over 1200 runners in the Boston Marathon (none injured thank goodness).
