Canadian Rocky Mountains 2011

Nice work with the hot springs Roy.
Liking the seasonal trees as well. Has Jan released them yet, or are these a bit of a test for you?

Morning Rob,

thanks for the post it is rather quiet here but winter cold snaps i can understand.
Well the resort here took me again to go little bit off track and make something that could fit.
Testing Jan's RM-1 set only the BB2 work for me although the BB1 2D are nice but simply not work in my concept. Even the BB2 they have great seasonal but are static anf one can see by times 2dD and i miss the slight breeze move tree branches etc giving just that real feeling... but we cannot have it all.

Hope today I have enough energy to continue finish this section one of these days.
How is your comp dealing with trainz now?

Roy

Hi Roy:

I stumbled upon this thread today, and had a very enjoyable afternoon starting from the very first page and reading/viewing my way through.
As soon as I get to my "good" computer I will be at your site to register. I am running TS12 Build 61388 under Windows 8.1 on a homebuilt computer with pretty good specs, so I am looking forward to seeing how your work looks on my system.

I noted you have had some health issues. I wish you a continued and uncomplicated return to good health!

Best regards:

JohnMac

Morning John,

envy you guys having a cold snap..... here always mild to hot lower 80ies upper 90ies,100 n more but we cannot have it all!
I remember when living in TN at lake chickamauga cold snaps and snow but never longer than a few hours and darn cold for winter sailing on the lake.
Thanks for the well wishing and yes the allergy subsided and now feel fresh and healthy but have to stay longer in excile to avoid the bamboo powder from the bamboo frest on the flanks of the mountains behind our home.
The 5 years we live there i never had this until 2 years or was it one time go fast, it hit me like poison ivy and y'all know that is the last thing one is looking for.
I had a a feelin that it was not the climate change that caused it but simple the local farmers and wood poachers steeling every year tons of tropical hardwood of the best quality they simply burn the bamboo and to keep trails to get to the timber and the last 2 years much less or no big fires at all which makes the air filled with mix of bamboo powder causing this problem to me... ouch. the fires many times very scary as tha can rage into the not ploughed rice fields in the valley and at night most times you can see real fire storms and we have to call the city fire brigade like the comedy capers they come with their old trucks and people from the village to fight the fires coz it reaches the village (most wooden houses) 6km from us very fast if the strong winter wind rages from the mountains behind us.
Ning stay home with Djoetje and the other animals and visit me every month driving 500 miles south and i visit every so many month knowing iit will hit me and i need 3-4 weeks to recover from it.
I started working with Jan to get more seasonal trees Fire Pine etc for my routes and he kindly make the first groups RM-1 ... Results looking very good but it is not just a replace asset and done so I have to make a choice of finish first my first section of the Laggan Sub all the way to Canmore and than put my hands on the full seasonal CPR and Laggan with Jan's trees and textures mixed with mine.
Today I will do some test on the new expansion Jan released and show pictures around noon I guess.

Let me know what specs you have right now and i can tell you if you are already set to lean back and drive for hours to come and sip many coffees from your lazychair...:hehe:
Thanks for the nice comment.
Talk to you guys later back to Banff Vermillion lakes finshing that area.

Morning Jannie,

Djoetje is now 5 years with us from day 2 he was born.
To me, us he is like a child more human than humans if being human is higher than being an animal in human perspective.
He come from just over the Mekong river, the Laos mountains part not far from here.
He was carried/smuggled to the river in a bag no food no drink dark hot and damp and very scared OMG, Ning picked him up on our side of the Mekong and brought it home.
Tomorrow i will show how he looked the first day have to find those pictures somewhere on a disc.

Muntjac deer is a protected species here, but thai people 99,9% have no respect and anything walking flying, swimming will be poached, killed for food or sold for food or whatever like the ivory sickness only not that valuable moneywise.
Moomoo the first muntjac we got from a villager who could not hold him anymore gave him to us as we had a large property and live 6km from the village at the flank of the mountains no houses only ricefields and rock and forests.
He couldl walk freely around the house and lived with us for 2 years and went daytime into the forest up the mountain but always come back home around 6:13 pm eat and sleep with us and watch tv.
In the morning he did the morning walk on our property you can see on youtube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQZ3eFEuW58

One day he not came home and we look for a few days ( we asked people in the village to help us find him... that was deadly wrong) and start hear many gun shots at night for 4 nights in a row and each shot fell like it hit our heart knowing these bastards knew Moomoo was walking around and wanted to kill him!! Believe me i was and still KILL instantly any thai coming on our property at night with my shotgun.
I know who they are those poachers, villans, lowlives mf's you see driving their bikes and long 100 year old rifles going into the mountains shooting fish at the ponds birds, animals snakes name it.
It still makes me cry talking about it.

here a funny part of Moomoo playing with the dogs on the morning walk

We still miss him very much and I simply cannot watch the movies anymore since he is gone even after 6 years now......:'(

I know this is not about trainz but there is a live around any trainzer most of the times unknown and i am not shy to share this part of live too as they are priceless.

Ok i need another coffee and deep breath.

Jannie did you now get things sorted out I not hear back from you last time you asked for advice???

You all have a good one,

Roy

@ Roy - a sad and happy story and cool videos too thanks.

Now it is my day to cook, so I will light the grill and put on the steaks!

JohnMac

Morning john,

good to hear things worked dl n install.

Enjoy and look forward to some neat shots from you on the steaks too!
I will "grill" tonight a steak, I love steaks n french fries (pomme allumette style).
Last night djoetje did not allow Ning to talk all the time he interupt and boks her and touch the phone to talk to me, amazing animals great heart great mind what else we need besides a little bit normal world if that ever existed.
At this moment i am installing miles of powerlines around the national park parking grounds and mors tuff we need energy to light them SUV's and campers and others.

Well....it is actually on its' way to a re-processing plant to separate and recover valuable materials.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

JohnMac

John,

I did lookup the meaning of the word nuclear and found a few options:
thinking positive splitting the word means nu clear already better and nu could mean no or the island NU so not clear waste from somewhere and maybe is this stuff also used for fracking??

for those interested i did not use only jan's textures but so far a few, where they made real sense to add to mine and make a good mix of different snow types and environmental summer textures.
