Canadian Rocky Mountain Routes

Can someone advise which Trainz 2019 routes (minimum) that I would require to have route trackage from Castle Mountain AB, to Lake Victor BC?

Er, isn't that about 610 kms? You wouldn't have a computer big enough to handle that, maybe NASA does but I don't think it's available! :hehe:

dear Ryebread for TRS19 all route segments are uploaded to N3V's server but N3V did not release all of them yet for unknown reasons to me.... waiting, waiting and no response yet why not released.

so far on the DLC are from West to East:

1 TRS19 Canadian Rocky Mountains Viktor Lake to Ross peak and Glacier. (package ID 522) SKU sc522.
2 TRS19 Canadian Rocky Mountains Ottertail to Castle jct. (package ID 565) SKU sc565.

Still on the TCCP "in review":

3 TRS19 Canadian Rocky Mountains West of Golden to Albert Canyon (package ID 517) SKU sc517.
4 TRS19 Canadian Rocky Mountains Beavermouth to Ottertail (package ID 525) SKU sc525.
5 TRS19 Canadian Rocky Mountains Baker Crk to West of Calgary (package ID 524) SKU sc524.

Still in WIP and hopefully release end of this year if lucky:

6 TRS19 Canadian Rocky Mountains Cochrane to Calgary SE (package ID 649) SKU sc649.

On the DLC one find routes for sale that are TANE based and not elevated to TRS19 as those mentioned in this post today.

I will ask Paul again today if they can push the routes in review to get up and running on the dlc as they all are tested and only waiting in line.

Welcome aboard,

To the best of my knowledge, Roys Trains Payware routes are the longest "Canadian routes". They can be purchased from N3V. There are a couple of good freeware Canadian routes on the DLS, but off hand, I can't remember the names of them..

Cheers, Mac...

Looks like Roys beat me to the punch above. The disadvantage of being a slow typer. :hehe:

Hi Mac,

I consider myself a very slow 2 finger typer so that means you are more like a sloth in the animal world slow but determined.:hehe:

cheers, Roy.....

These routes are among the best we can have. They are not only very beautiful to drive, but the operations work very well as well. I purchased an earlier version of only a portion of these large routes for TS12 and they became my big escape with many hours of driving.

It would be nice if these could be merged together into a mega route, but I'm afraid that TRS2019, or any Trainz version for that matter, would crash right to the ground without even a sputter due to the size and detail of each portion of each route here.

Dear John,

thank you for the kind words.
Remember i initially created prototypical the real Subdivisions and later i created smaller subsections of them to allow users with low end computers also to run them as well.
Unfortunately N3V put a bombshell in my years of work when they released TRS19 and not caring about consequences for route builders like me changing their upload package size to 1GB and also made existing routes 35% heavier in MB than in TANE.
The result for me was disastrous to say it bluntly and it cost me 1 year just to recover sort of making new subsections in TRS19 which standalone have an acceptable beginning and endpoint. This would create overlap of adjecent subsections and no way to avoid this if one want to keep the route enjoyable.
No more real subdivisions like the CPR Mnt Sub, Laggan Sub, etc etc but only smaller sections which i personally not liked at all but had no choice.
Now the good news seem to be rumors in the brew crew dungeon kitchen that sooner than later we would be able to get a much larger package size than 1GB but something like 4GB plus....
This would if i see it first be a blessing but this means now i have to recreate the Subdivisions as mentioned in full glory with cut and paste technique merging subsections and recreate all the sessions.
Not sure if the merge route would this time fool me again and damage terrain with holes, spikes and mismatches alike like in the past ruining the landscape as adjusting this size of route landscape is a real punishment and only 70% feasible with scarce left in the field.
Anyway lets wait and see what happens this year.

sorry for your trials Roy, not a fun story. Your work is superb and deserves better respect from Aurun. I hope they mend their ways. There is no reason to limit the package size like that no decent route can be so tiny and with modern machines the size is not an issue. ah well. thanks again for your tremendous work on our behalf.

Chris

Yikes! That means a lot of extra work splicing, if it's at all possible, plus creating new parts. The merging seems to work okay so far. I did run into some extra canyons on one route, but that was in the early days and haven't seen that since. Let's hope it's possible.

Let's hope their kitchen mumblings are true though. :)

You're welcome. I do enjoy your routes a lot even today in their miniature sections.

Exactly the information I was looking for. Thanks!

Thanks for this.

As long as the topic is Canadian Rocky Mountain Routes, I'll try posting this here. With the full disclosure that I have not fully explored these routes yet, I have the following routes in addition to the Rocky Mountaineer:
<kuid2:122860:100436:27> Canadian Rocky Mountains - Golden, BC
<kuid2:122860:100316:55> Canadian Rocky Mountains - Columbia River Basin
<kuid2:122860:100494:19> Canadian Rocky Mountains - Rogers Pass
Still looking for the 360 degree tunnel. Is it in one of these routes, or am I looking for another route?
By the way, these routes are outstanding! From what I have run so far, I am very impressed by the quality of these routes!

@Forester if you not see TRS19 Canadian Rocky Mountains xxxxxx and my kuid it is a TANE route not using any TRS19 features.
The spiral tunnels are in the TRS19 Canadian Rocky Mountains Ottertail to Castle Jct and cover full detail of the Yoho Nat'l park glaciers and Continental Divide passage! on the way to Banff/Calgary.
Thanks for the nice comment even though these are 'old' routes running them in TANE does the job but not even close (if you ask me) to the new details offered in TRS19.

Roy

Thanks Roy. I have only run them in T:ANE so far, but i am looking forward to just seeing the differences in running them under 2019. Thanks for the tip on the Ottertail to Castle Jct. I will pick that one up as well as look for the 2019 versions to pick up. I use to live in the very northeast Washington state (Northport, Colville and Kettle Falls) and made some really great trips up through the Canadian Rockies.

I hope you will enjoy the high quality that TRS19 offers and let my routes shine depending on the time of day and sun of course!:hehe:

Let me know and post your findings ok?
