Can Trainz 2004 run on Windows 8.1?

I am trying to centralize my Trainz work and I am trying to see if all three of the versions i have can work on Windows 8.1 So far 2012 and 2006 are fine.

2004 wont start yet. Can anyone help? I tried compatability for XP SP3 and Win 98 no joy yet.

I myself using TRS2006, would recommend upgrading to at least TRS2006, but I would be happy to help you

I believe that a windows recent update is preventing TRS2004 from starting ... looking it up

i have an XP install on a separate system so i can use that. was just hoping i might be able to run all 3 on the new system. I have 2004, 2006 and 2012 and plan to get TANE

Hi crisger,
try this please;

Open the TRS2004 directory,
find the file trainzoptions.txt and open it with a text editor,
add the following line,
-Intro=disable
and save the file
From memory TRS2004 uses a some what rare program to run the Introduction movie?
