Can I specify a KUID sequence?

I'd like to have...

151329:9xxx for TS2009
151329:10xxx for TS2010 and
151329:12xxx for TS2012

Is that possible?

Thanks for your time,

Joe

As long as you are creating the assets without using CCP which assigns a series of abitrary numbers, you can use any number you like as long as it is less than 10 digits. If you do use CCP, you can still change the numbers afterwards and remove the original.

Edit. If you do use the method you suggest, your content will not be common over your three systems which may cause you problems later. I suggest you don't go this way.

The broad answer is yes, you can do that. However there are limits.

First, the entire range of numbers, 1xxxx would have to be clear of any assets.
If you assign a number as 102000 to an asset and an asset already uses that number,
the new asset will over write the existing asset.

Using your own kuid would help, but it would be a real pain picking numbers unless
you assign them sequentially.

As narrowgauge said above, use of the CCP would have to be avoided.

In the past I have uh... rearranged a few assigned numbers to force assets into
a narrow range. I gave it up as it requires a great deal of editing and a lot of extra time.

I find it much easier to change the username tag. For instance I have some assets that are fault free in TS2009 TS2010 & TS12 so I give them a build number of 09 and the username is XXXX XXXX TS9/10/12.
