Can 2009 builds be adjusted to work on 2006?

Hi Everyone

I am very happy with 2006 and have not even got busy with 2010 due to the lack of content download items by comparison (Freightliner terminal for example?). However, there are some interesting new 2009 build items being put on the download station, which when downloaded do not work on 2006. Is there a way they can be be adjusted or maybe I am not downloading them correctly.
Your advice please.

Assets can be backdated (sometimes if you are lucky, and handy at fixing config files) ... most tracks can not be backdated easily ... and higher trainz-build routes can not be used in lower versions of Trainz

Thanks for replying. I am not interested in the ready-made trainz build routes, so that is ok. I have been into the config files of single downloaded 2009 items. What should I look out for to change please?

I will make one thing clear here - not everything can be backdated (despite what some may say). The ones to watch out for are the ones with scripts (traincars/locomotives,certain scenery items, rules and driver commands) and routes/sessions, which cannot be backdated in most cases. Also, content with meshes will also require changes to the config in order to be backdated.

It's usually the trainz-build line you will need to change, but be aware that some content will require additional changes in order to be used in that trainz-build.

Most of the TRS2006 content should work fine in TS2010, a lot of content has been corrected for TS12 and somewhere you may have an email from N3V offering to upgrade to TS12 for $9.99.

TRS2006 runs mainly on one core of the CPU TS2010 and TS12 make better use of the GPU and can make use of more than one core.
