Dave,
The SD80MAC was a loco that was Payware long ago.
Unfortantly the site holding these locos and the creator disapeared as I have heard. And this loco is no longer avalible and very few people have them. :(
So the Conrail SD80MAC is not avalible. :( :( :( I wish I had one.

I'm just talking out of me butt here, but since the creator of that SD80MAC has vanished, would his stuff then become freeware to be placed on the DLS?

Yeah, but WOT was have SD80MAC in there like last year before so now this year they was vanish WOT never release as SD80MAC anymore but maybe can they will again release not sure and DLS already have conrail SD80MAC there but I don't want that but if you want like so let search find Conrail SD80MAC in DLS.........  :o

...out of the woodwork...

8) I don't think the DLS would take the former payware objects...or maybe they would...
I would not see a problem sharing files, myself, however that's subject to various opinions.
If you did share the files, the creator of the locomotives would probably "un-vanish."
I don't understand how content creators just hold their assets, knowing that the community would like to have them, for whatever reason they leave.

Notch 8(wide open) 16mph, 42,000 lb. tractive effort, 8 WofT SD70MAC's in Executive and Heritage II paint(2 assigned units, two mid-train helpers DPU, one assigned DPU on the rear, 3 helpers on rear). 8800 ft long, 140 loads/O Mty's, 20,020 tons, uphill at a clear signal on Crawford Hill, Nebraska, BNSF Butte Subdivision, facing the same train empty bound for the Rojo Mine, Powder River, Wyoming, BNSF Orin Subdivision.
This is the C-ROJMEM-13, Rojo Mine, Wy. to Memphis, TN, handed over to Norfolk Southern, to deliver to Juliette, Georgia, Georgia Power Plant Shearer, meeting the Mty E-MEMROJ-10.

Wow nice the BNSF SD70MAC inside cab!

Inside a Metro North P32 "McGinnis NH Heritage" unit, from my old north leg of the Harlem which I did before Classics and will start from scratch once I get it.

First one is on 44767 (a Black Five) and the second is on 5972 Olton Hall (aka Hogwarts Castle).

1. Unless a creator has specifically said you can pass around his/her files it is BLATANT PIRACY
2. If he/she does "un-vanish" and finds out their stuff has been passed around without their permission heads are gonna roll.
3. Anything created (specifically Trainz related), the copyright belongs to THE INDIVIDUAL THAT CREATED AND ORIGINALLY RELEASED IT. Anyone else that re-releases it without prior consent is PIRATING, it's the same problem you see today with music, etc being illegally downloaded.

As for why people holding onto their assets. As a content creator, IT'S MY CHOICE if I feel like sharing with the community or keeping it for myself. IT'S MY CHOICE as to what should be done with them. I am in no way obligated to share anything with the community. If I choose to share something and go away for a "while" that's my choice. While I am gone NO ONE AND I MEAN N-O- O-N-E has the rights to re-release my model somewhere else, tamper with the files, and depending on the license in the config release a re-skin without an email to me and my WRITTEN RESPONSE with the go-ahead.
I think you'll find many content creators are the same way.

3rd party content in no way ever has to be released to the public. There is nothing that says we have to give out our hard work. Things are placed for download because the creator thought people might enjoy it, not because we had to.

Hey thob,

nice the P42 inside cab, and what kind of tracks color it white something?

Well, they're martinvk's and were used as a temporary embankment until I made my own, but I honestly don't know why the tracks are white.
