What makes you think they'll answer a 2 year old thread rather than a Private Message??? If they're not answering you, there's generally a reason...

On the other hand, if you bump the two-year-old thread, there's a chance someone other than the OP can help you. When you PM only the person who receives it can help, whereas posting on a public forum is more likely to get answers.

Whats the point, the answer is usually in the topic and I really don't see what is so hard about using the button up there that says search. Also i hate old topics being bumped with messages saying, thats awesome work etc that are from months, years ago for no reason or spam. What is the point! While some people have no problem and keep bumping them all the time for no reason, the rest find it annoying. Also I only bumped this up one thread, I don't mind under about five pages being bumped with USEFULL POSTS ie Screenshots in a screenshot thread but all overs for spam etc and stupid questions then yes, I do mind.

Like I said, I don't mind bumps that have a purpose and aren't to old but some bumps are really pointless, from over a year ago and have no purpose whatsoever. I had one on one of my posts in march, bumping a thread which hadn't had a post since November 06 with where did you get that, I pm him back to avoid bumping the thread.

Like I said, I don't mind a bump if its helpfull or a question if it isn't old but some ones just get on my nerves.

You know what annoys me even more than old topics being bumped for no reason?

Whether this is bumping an old topic or not, I really grind my teeth whenever someone quotes the entirety of an extremely long post (i.e. you have to scroll to read it all), including several high-resolution pictures, all headers, all footers, EVERYTHING, just to add something along the lines of "Looks nice!" to the bottom.

I would favour it if there was a maximum of one new thread per individual per day.One new member appears to be on a "sponsored thread start" and started 5 new threads in a day.

Why don't you guys stop whining! Really, look at the argument here? It's amazing what you guys will cry about. Try this out, click on your start menu, look for your version of TRS, and double click on it. Tada! If you guys are going to cry and whine, why not start a thread so you can all express how angry you all are, then we can swoop in about 6 months later and BUMP it! Yes, I said BUMP IT!
