Bumping old threads needs to stop...

How often is aged? 1 hour? :p

This thread seems more about humor now with a couple of exceptions, it will be interesting to see how long it runs.

just dashing thorugh to see whats going on in the forum THIS IS NOT A RETURN TO THE FORUM NOR IS MY OTHER POST THANKING THE TC3 TEAM FOR THEIR HARD WORK I see there are heated discussions still, and with the qoute, I am suprised that the thread has lasted this long seeing as my small thread to celebrate the first public display of Avro Vulcan XH558 barley lasted a day if that I put it in the community section because the V-Bombers affected people all around the world, I know of one paticular case where a Vulcan visited Australia and the bombing competitions held in the states and I belive Canada so its not a UK only thing and I personally belive its a real achieve ment for the civilian UK and those around the world to be proud of, to show that projects can be completed TC3 for example and DJ&HR restoration but since leaving the forums I have been able to have more fun in Trainz then ever before, having been able to use it as a game nothing more just to have fun.

and to get back onto the original topic of this thread I agree with those like the above sig if a threads bumped its bumped, just make your choice as a free thinking human not to look at it, its simple enough

Seeing this is one of the few areas of the forum I can post in at the moment ... BUMP!

Ahhh, that felt better :p

Cheers
Tony

To get back to the subject a minute - my take on it is that there is not enough bumping.

I just ran a thread-titles only search on Content Manager Plus. There are 109 of them! Threads, not posts. (And I don't begin to know how many threads titled something like "Help Please! deal with a CMP issue.) I'll bet any question about the CMP anybody has is already covered in one of those threads. What usually happens with me when I have searched on a question and find something about it in an old thread is that I want something clarified. I'm supposed to start a whole new thread?

Really whats the problem with bumping and old thread saves hashing old subjects when you just want a little extra information. Really

contact the thread starter or person in question via PM.

This is my new sig!
sigh, if the thread dropped into history or never got replyed to, it was for a reason. For years me and other people tryed to tell people like you guys to use the serch feature, this has just gotten out of hand. There used to be a thread about a norfalk and western route that was really popular with me, then it dropped off the face of the first page, never gave it a second thought.

Nothing got out of hand and in a large community like this, EVERYONE has a favorite/popular thread they like and I'll bet they all get bumped off the first page quite often.
If you really like a thread, take your own advice, use the Subscribe to this Thread feature found under Thread Tools at the top of the First Post. Then under Quick Links, choose Subscribed Threads and find your thread real easy. I've found the Subscribed Thread feature MORE useful than the Search one and regularly change what is in my Subscriptions every month or two as I need.
Rudeness is telling people to use board features when you won't.

I think it's good bumping old threads, especially for the creator as I know I do and know some others do just look down the main page, so if someone see's the thread coz someone just bumped it more people get to know about the content,

Im off to switzerland for a holiday so I won't reply

I think you need to cut down on the large word you are using per sentance. This isn't a spell-a-vision forum.

I don't know what you just said or even if it was aimed at me but seen as the moderator had to edit it because of your language I have to say that this isn't a say-what-you-want-even-to-kids-forum either.

I remember when the Bump was nothing more than a fad dance.
I think the Hustle replaced it.
Does that mean Hustling old threads is the next step for forums?:p

Okay, apparently, we're on different wavelengths...

When I made the first post, all I was trying to say is that you (Not any "You" in particular...) need to stop bumping threads older than six months essentially posting "Gimmie gimmie gimmie". That was the message of this thread.

Good day
