Buildings

I've been looking for quality buildings for my route, specifically good american houses and stores, does anybody know who make buildings like this or where i can find them.

Old but gold, search for items by user dmdrake . He has a vast selection of housing and city buildings on the DLS including housing and industrial blocks which make very effective fillers for middle to distant background scenery.

Also look for items by davesnow (Dave Snow). He made store blocks, houses, factories, and other nicely made buildings. For brick houses, check out those by tlanders. They are Canadian, but very northeast.

Redford, you might also browse the websites of some of the European providers. I have found items suitable for Routes portraying North America on diverse European sites, including Tranzitalia, Spanish Trainz Routes (STR), and H-P Trainz.

Hi Dave,

I use your buildings too! :) The City series, especially your city blocks, work great for my US themed routes.

Do you have plans on updating these to TS12 standards so they work efficiently in TS12 and above? They work well now, but the newer standards call for more LOD targets and other stuff which makes the models even nicer to use.

Redford, besides the other valuable suggestions so far, also look for reskins by Euphod.

These were nearly all reskins, but also nearly all North American content.

dmdrake, I took the liberty of copying out your reply to a document in my personal references file.

Attn, moderators: could we please make this thread a "sticky"?

Also copied the list (Thank you for providing it Mr Drake). Your work has always been high quality for their time, and I doubt I've seen it all.

However if we were going to make a Sticky, I'd think one being dedicated to Mr Drake would be a better option, with a self-explanatory Title. It might be worth it to open a support ticket and ask before one attempts this....
