Building wall spline?

Hey all, I am currently working on a part of my route with some particularly odd shaped buildings and am wondering, are there building wall splines out there? I cannot find any on the dls and am having a hard time trying to get available structures to look right. Does this make sense? Basically a tall wall spline that looks like the side of a building...I am not concerned with a roof, just a way to shape the "building". Thanks and have a good'n!

Hi Justin,

A little more detail in what you are trying to accomplish would help. With pictures if possible. I don't know of any wall splines that look like the side of building, but there are plenty of fences that might work. To get a right angle just hold the shift key and move the end into place so it doesn't attach. Making a spline like you want is not too hard to do, but we would need pictures of what you want to accomplish with this.

Could possibly get some google or bing screen caps when I get home. Think buildings on a curved road with intersecting elevated bridges, square and rectangular just doesn't fit. I would have to make a curved front facade, and then a few odd angles on the sides and back. Thanks for the reply :) I am very proficient in using splines, just not in making them in a 3d.prog.

Justin,

I'd say, based upon the limited amount of information provided, that buildings would be better than splines. Depending upon exactly what you want, if you ask, you might find someone who'd do you a simple set of custom buildings for the location you're trying to fill.

Also check TPR There are some there as well.

There maybe other iterations of the name, so give them a try and I hope these are a start.

What I do sometimes is use an asset and bury it into an adjoining asset to get an angle. By working close you can get some very good angled buildings just by lining up the front corner of both assets.

I have occassionally used retaining wall splines wrapped around a building when I need a bit of variety. There are plenty of doors and windows to dress up the resultant blank walls. Wrapping around another building gives you a roof, though I suppose you could use concrete slab objects or concrete/asphalt splines for flat roofs. The same idea could be adapted to an irregular shape...
