British railways class 37 avatar (idea)

(i hope this is the right topic)

My idea is to add a British railways class 37 to the list of locomotive pictures in the avatars. The class 37's were loved by many enthusiasts and worked all over the British railways network, some are even in service today with Direct rail services, despite being over 50 years old.
Please leave comments about your opinion on my idea about having the Class 37 as part of the select able avatars in use on this forum.

(if this is the wrong part of the forum could someone please move it to the right one)

I think it is a great idea, but what livery would you choose, DRS, EWS, Load Haul, Railfreight or plain old British Rail.

For me I would choose the Load Haul livery, as I thought that looked really good on the loco.

I have noticed that there is no Deltic either in the list, which is strange, considering these ran the length of the East Coast Mainline, which is also one of the main routes featured in both Trainz 2010 and 2012.

I think you are on to something here Hope5.

I've seen some custom avatars going around. I wish we could upload some. I've got some Thomas ones that I'd like to upload, as well as others if I get permission from the creator.

The avatars rotate among a larger collection that have been available over time, if you check you'll find that my double gronk (class 13) is no longer available as a choice...

Anyway, 37s have been featured before, in many guises - I recall seeing BR blue and green 37s as avatars, and when I chose the class 13 an EWS 37 was an option.

I think Auran/N3V likes to let people have some 'prestige' factor to an avatar that was once available, but now isn't, and thus it shows that they've been around a while at a quick glance. So I don't know if I'd expect them to allow the 37s to be chosen again.

I think Nv3 games should overhaul the avatars a bit, The UK section is missing some pretty important locomotives, Class 37 - 50 - 08 - 20 - 56 - and hydraulics i think.

Again, all of those (assuming we count a class 52 under your 'and hydraulics') have been available as avatars at some point over the last 2 years, but have been rotated out of the choices available at the moment.

You need to keep checking on a regular basis, and see if anything catches your fancy, and think of the avatars as 'special collectables' that you can acquire at a specific time, then show off as something that sets you apart from the newbies :D

Just changed mine, but if you check, the class 13 is available at the moment. :)

Odd, doesn't show up in my list, maybe because I have it selected - there again, it used to show up in the list even then.

So very confusing.

As for class 37 and deltics, you sort of have a choice of a hybrid atm, as they have the KTM class 20 under 'Europe and Asia' which was basically a class 37 in a modified deltic body that EE exported for Malaysia. A strangely beautiful beast that isn't anywhere in sight for trainz (I think I saw one for MSTS though)

"Custom" Avatars are allowed however you must submit them to teh help desk for inclusion in the system. There are rules laid out in the Code of Conduct (Section 18, Part 3) that explains the requirements for Avatars.
Code of Conduct (Section 18 said:
Forum avatars submitted for inclusion to the selection pool must not exceed 204 pixels in width, 30 pixels in height and may not have a total file size greater than 3kb.

Back when we had Lance & Alan I had a number of avatars I made added to the system. Actually most of the Chicago & a number of the Amtrak avatars are mine.

I'm sure there used to be a class 37 way back in "The Good Old Day's" when you were given a new avatar each time you reached a mile post on the number of posts you had made, it might have been for reaching 1000 posts I think. I know that you started with a BR Blue MKIII coach.
