Hi all

No I'm not going mad (to the contrary I'm completely demented) but I'm looking for some good British rolling stock, locomotives, and routes (real ones not fictional) from the mid/late 50's to the late 60's.

rod 14+23. excellent locos bags of power, good effects. for a freight loco doubt if it could be bettered.
rosworth vale route wise although it needs adapting to run all the industries, i've put a multi industry in to consume+produce products and it requires slick running as trains arrive from both directions.
any diesel now that whitepass has done the A1 brake, class 31/37/26 without brake, 24/25/20/35 with.
sorry ros vale is fictional.

I know there are a couple of prototypical routes on the DLS but I can't think of any names right now. For some really good fictional routes I'd say search for the usernames harcourt, eso and Lord-Claude-Hamilton.

With regards to locos and rolling stock however there's a lot more choice...

Here are a few search terms to get you started:
Rebuilt Merchant Navy

And for lots of wagons, search for "5 plank", this will return about 1,006,456,454 results :D

That sounds like Hawes Junction to me ;) got TRS2006?

If you fancy a trip in the West Country give Turks Castle and Restormel Castle a try both based on the real world and both contain a printable map in the pack to help you on your way

Although it was not completed at the time of it being put on the DLS, all the track and most of the scenery is in place on the main line from Newton Abbot to Exeter and the branch to Exmouth. Devon Lines is the route and is based on the tracks of the 50s/60s. Im still working on the route and im extending it up to Taunton where it will connect to widowmakers Paddington to Bristol, Taunton sections and the commercial West Somerset Railway route.

If you search for 'Colne to Skipton' in the Trainz Download Station (DLS) pages, and use 'All' rather than just 'layout' as the search criteria, you'll come up with the route I made a while back.
Its set in the 50s and 60s in the UK.;)
 
Search for Username "Kemplen".His buildings are the best and he has recently done a fabulous Metrovick Co-Bo in several livery variations which would look right at home on Hawes Junction, though I'm not sure if Co-Bos ran on the S & C...:confused:

Yes they were run in pairs, heading the overnight "Condor" container train between Hendon (London) and Gushetfaulds (Glasgow). That was in 1959. They were very unreliable so it was not long before they were moved on.

I've tried looking for the offishel website but it wasn't there.

Can somebody help me find Rosworth Vale and it's dependences? :(

Trainz is backward compatible, so they should work with TC3.
