Even if Auran did include your route on a disk no copyright has been broken unless Auran got hold of the items and put them on the disc aswell. Your route would have still only have referenced them.

Angela with regard your question I have said this on the payware forum too.

I wouldn't buy payware scenary as I can't see the point as there is too much good freeware content on the DLS :) I would however consider and I have bought payware locos and rollingstock.

Hope that answers your question :D

Thanks peeps

Okay, and thank you all for commenting, it has been a great help.
Yes, they are wonderful signals and work superbly well, and look good too, just like me.... ha ha.

Yes, they are about a tenner but well worth it.
In the past I have tried not to use assets other than those on the DS, not very successfully I admit, but those inclusions were by accident, bot design.

It's getting to be a lot of hassle, so I may save the route out as a new number and resignal to see how it turns out. There's a fair bit to get done yet (and no snacky comments about that, please....) and a lot of signalling to do around the station. It is done, but not exactly as the 'plan' in the Planning Portal. I have to put gantries up yet.
The route does run fine as it is, end-to-end no problems.

Thank you Lousie, but I only use 04 so would not be able to open the route when you returned it. Otherwise I would have sent it as a cdp. You are very kind to offer.

Bless you all for helping,

Angela

Phantom signal

When I began using Bloodnoks stuff this happened, a great puzzle for me.

Somehow I got this signal in place on the line and it worked.
Phantom_1.jpg

It is one of Bloodnoks as can be seen by a right click, not a UKRailSim
Phantom_2.jpg

Then I did something else and came back to place another so used the Get button. This happened.
Phantom_3.jpg

I got a completely different signal.
After trying everything I could think of including going through the whole of ALL the signals 1 at a time and placing them to check, I am unable to find it anymore.

Any ideas?

Angela

EDIT

ScreenThief01.jpg

And I did download the pack!

Thanks to Photobucket too.

Oh I thought you had upgraded to 2006? I still do have 2004 on my system when I can get it back up and running having a slight issue with windows but think I got it almost sorted. So if you still wish to send it to me I promise I will use 2k4for you :)

Angela- have a look at the quick guide I sent you.

The signal in front is displaying feathers because it can 'see' the signal targets ahead. The second signal you placed behind it without feathers is being obscured by the signal with feathers, which is why the feathers aren't appearing.

Three other golden rules-

1. name the signals uniquely otherwise their performance is unstable, naming and 'updating' these correctly will save their settings in surveyor (the ID will appear on the signal plate).

2. remember to add the straight feather target with all of these, that is important for it to function correctly.

3. Ensure there is another valid signal behind the targets for the signal to see a valid route (invisible signals could be used here).

A bit dim

Sorry if I seem a bit dim, when did you send me the tutorial? These are Bloodnoks signals by the way. In any event I discovered that when I put the theatres on the track that signal changes shape! That had me completely fooled! Doesn't take much to do that, I admit...
I am finding them hard going, much harder than the UKRailSim, at least they are for me.

Thanks for posting, bless you,

Angela

I sent an e-mail about an hour ago via this forum. Not the tutorial, but enough salient points to allow other DPS route building members to fit scores of these correctly- and quickly.

Yes, I'm well aware they are Bloodnok's signals, you're postings make that very clear and it is these that I refer to. Once you grasp that a signal can only 'see' to the next signal they are easy to install.

I'll try to clarify a bit more. Each signal you place is exactly the same, what you place in front of it gives it it's shape. Fit a theatre target, a theatre appears. Fit a feather etc....You then have to show the signal the alternative routes by switching the points, it is blind to other directions until you show it these. Reply off group if you like.

I've used these for the 21 platform Edinburgh waverley station with double slips, and other horrendous track configurations. they work very well.

Hello again,
I am afraid I have had no mail from you on either of my mai addresses. PM me and I'll send my mail address to you.

Thanks for helping, I am struggling with these signals and am about to give up. It is just taking forever to do a few junctions.

Bless you,

Angela

The message bounced, your spam filter is rejecting them- which explains why you didn't receive the first one!

Nothing yet!

Message sent again- third time lucky I hope!

Just checked.... nothing yet. Sometimes they take a while, others they come up immediately.
I have to go out soon, won't be back until later so that will give it time to sort itself out.
If not I will take off spam filters for a short while on my other firefly address so you can try that.
It's very frustrating!

Bless you for persevering,

Angela

Just a thought

Just a thought, my yahoo address should all be lower case. Not sure how I sent it to you, or even if it makes any difference....

Blessings,

Present

What is the era of this route?

I am local to the area so know the station well

Well, I suppose as I am copying the scenery from GE it's the present. But do routes change that much? The additions here would be the HST Depot and tracks leading to/from it, otherwise I suspect the rest are pretty much as they have been for yonks.

But I do not fit an OH system. For a start I am hopeless at it, so I'll leave that to whoever downloads it. And my signalling isn't red hot either, so that may want checking over.

This is pretty highly detailed (now there's a surprise considering the route is coming from me!) so will need a fast PC or for the user to close down some of the running specs, like Detail level, Draw Distances and by adding a lot of daytime Fog Effect.

It will be a while yet though. Just discovered I have made the section from the east side of the station to the road flyover too long. Serves me right for guessing by eye and not measuring it properly!
So plenty of work sorting that out before I can get down to adding buildings again. Most of the track and a lot of the land is raised so that complicates matter as well...

St Phillips Marsh (The HST Depot) has been serving HSTs since their introduction and previously was a steam depot

Barton Hill (to the north, adjacant to the triangular junction) still survives under EWS (or DB Schenker as it is now)

Bath Road (To the south, just north of the avoiding line junction and access to St Phillips Marsh) has unfortunatly been flatened, it served many GWR express services incuding the Bristolian and is sorely missed.

Hi,

But its a long time ago that i used snowsignal signals. Are these also work in TRS2009 now? At the moment i work with TRS2006 and thats no problem but afther my next route i want to go to TRS2009 and maby i dont sure i want to make a UK route again.

Hello Ronny,
I decided against using Snowsignal's signals in any of my freeware routes. I asked on here and got some negative results. Instead I went for the VSR ones, they are also good but take a bit of getting used to - and they are free.
As I only use 2004 for route building I am unable to advise whether or not SNs signals work in 09. But I am sure somebody will come through with the knowledge.

Enjoy your Trainz, whatever you do...

Blessings,

Angela
