BR Mk3 carriage search.

I've been hunting for some updated Mk3 carriages to reskin but all I can find that are compatible with TS09 are the original Auran efforts and nexusdj's improved versions of the same.

I recall ages ago, that nexusdj and jn114 were doing some work on Mk3s and HST sets but any more recent mention of these would indicate they're for TS2010. Having hunted through a load of threads which mention Mk3s and links, I've discovered that either the links are dead or for ones that work, there are missing dependencies that I'm unable to find.

I don't wish to sound like a 'gimme pig' as it is my intention to upload the reskins I plan doing. So far, the best I can get is adrian19's 5WES TSO but as I haven't been able to contact him regarding permission to reskin, I'm at a loss.

If anyone is able to point me in the direction of a Mk3 that stands up to close scrutiny (hopefully passenger enabled) I would be most grateful.

Thanks.

Hi pfx,

I believe the links for the MK3's are good, shame they have buffers though, as the MK3 sets today don't have buffers, and the only ones I can find, which you would probably know of, is the payware ones from Railwaves... http://www.railwaves.com/products.php?product=Class-43-HST125-Train-Pack

Nexusdj did report about a year ago now, the possiblity of some new look HST sets for Trainz made by JN114, and from what I seen of the screenshots, they were coming on great and looking really superb, from the last post from Nexusdj regarding the HST sets, they were aligning passengers and seats together so they could be passenger enabled, unfortunatly that was the last I heard.

I too am really looking forward to the launch of these superb and most wanted additions to Trainz, so any information would be very welcome.

Many thanks

@ meyshollop & anthony, thanks guys. I had considered these but James advises on his site, not to attempt reskinning them.

@ airtime, you're correct, I am aware of the Railwaves Mk3s but as they're payware, I wouldn't be able to upload reskins.

Edit - having just had a look at bloodnok's Mk3 in CMP, it states that it can be used so I will see if I can get a reply and try doing a reskin.

I agree with you PFX, that is one of the problems with them, you can reskin them yourself, but then you cannot pass them on, the other problem with them, which was pointed out by Nexusdj, and I fully agree with him, they are the wrong size and length, and are ok for HST sets for now, but better is being made by JN114 and reskinned by Nexusdj.

I just hope, (and please, please, please, fingers crossed) they add in the config file an instruction, so they can light up at night, HST sets lit up at night are a superb sight.

The project is not dead just on hold due to technical difficulties and as far as I'm aware the project is designed for use with 2004 and above .

JN114's main computer died . He has all the content backed up on a secondary drive but that isn't compatible (Snapped cable connection problems) with the laptop he's using . He is saving up for a new computer into which the backup drive would be installed but obviously saving takes time .

So apart from continuing to add new liveries to the existing part built stock that I have been sent there hasn't been a lot of progress over the last 3 or 4 months .

Bloodnok's Mk3's: I'd suggest contacting him first especially if you wish to distribute at a latter stage and I'm not getting up on my high horse here in regards copyright but the last lot of reskins that someone tried to upload to the DLS disappeared before they got on there (and no it wasn't me who uploaded them !! ) . :)

Hi nexus. Thanks for that update. As for uploading, I always ask first. It's the CLAW! Hehe.

Cheers.

Thank you Dave for keeping us informed,

I do hope JN114 gets his new computer sorted out soon, I know what it is like to have a computer die on you, and then not have a computer, and it can be frustrating having a lot of ideas for Trainz and no computer to do it with.

Also thank you to PFX for creating this thread, and good luck with your new reskins, I will look forward to them in the future, fingers crossed on the reskin permission.
