Hi all

I use the built in Brake Van first made by Pikkabird quite a lot on my late 50's layout but the Guard and tail lamps show when it is coupled to anything else including another Brake van. Looks a bit daft when two are coupled together in a siding.

So.... the question is.... does anybody know how to alter the script so that they only show when a loco is attached. (and if anybody does, words of one syllable please.)

Thanks
Peter

Hi Peter, hope you are well,

I totally agree with what you say, the two brake vans together with lights and guard do look wrong, especially in a siding somewhere.

However, I have solved this by coupling the brake vans together, which show the guard and the lights, then clicking on the uncouple sign, either ( in the bottom right hand corner Trainz 2009/2010 ) or ( in the top right hand corner in Trainz Simulator 2012 ) uncouple the brake vans without moving them, so they look conected but they are not.

Once the brake vans are uncoupled, the two guards, and the tail lights should disappear. This is a temporary solution, but hopefully someone with some script knowledge will help you further.

Hope the above helps

Hi Joe

I agree that would work but I have that many scattered around different yards that by the time I had uncoupled them all the session would be over.
I know it should be possible as the tail light on mike10's Mk1 coaches only show when a loco is attached but I'm afraid I am not that computer literate to be able to fathom it out yet. (but I am learning. all be it very slowly)
Here's hoping there is somebody out there that can help.

Peter
