BNSF Clovis Sub

NS37's revamped F7s are way anachronistic, what what the heck! I tarted up part of the route through Trojan with hi-poly track and lots of 'grass' to mark the occasion....

Sorry c.david I do not have TRS2009 and I cannot offer support. I have heard from other TRS2009 users that the session is broken in 09, but they have the route working OK....

Andy

Your route and session work just fine in 09 Andy, at least on my computer. I've been using your route as a test route in all of the beta's and have it running just fine in the boxed version too. You do have to run in compatibility mode, but that's normal with all routes until there is a route built with completely 09 compatible assets some time in the future, 2020 maybe.

I hope you used a good firewall to prevent an infestation! ;)

Rofl - between George's track and the amount of grass I planted those screenies were taken at the fabulous rate of about 2fps. It was quicker to re-pose the consist by quiting to surveyor and moving it there than driving it lol. The Weed-Whacker has been out today, everything back to normal.....

Andy ;)

They better use a weed killer rather than a weed whacker unless you plan on keeping a track crew in that one spot full time.:hehe:

Not the best screenie I ever set up, but it does prove that I am still working on this thing, albeit slowly....

Vaughn NM, where the BNSF Transcon crosses over the Union Pacific line form Kansas City to El Paso. And yes, the span on that bridge is too much, the result of the 10m grid with tracks crossing at a 45 degree angle! Would a thru truss be too much.....

Nice work Dermmy! That bridge looks very aged.

Is that the type of bridge that crosses there? And is the update available on the DLS or should we just change it ourselves to reflect that?

I really like this route. Very realistic of the terrain seen in the southwest.

Thanks for all the hard work put into it!

:)

lol, the real bridge is more like a culvert!! In Trainz the bridge is longer. Firstly there is the problem of the 10 meter grid, secondly the tracks cross at about 45 degrees, but worst of all the bridge is longer because the real UP line is single track, but on my route it is double. The reason for this compromise is that the Union Pacific El Paso Portals are just a couple of miles away and if the track were single then collisions between trains leaving and entering the route would be inevitable, so I need two portals (an Entry and an Exit), therefore double track.

You don't need to change anything on the released route, Vaughn is on Clovis 2 which is not released yet...

Andy :)

Ok great. Thanks for the explanations, makes sense now and I look forward to Clovis 2!

Don't mean to be a pest, but what Is that lead unit on the bridge?

Oops- it is a BNSF reskin of Frank's Warbonnet ATSF C44-9W that was being done by Mike (22Alpha). I got a Beta copy, but the skin was never released.

Third Time Lucky...

Third time lucky!! The through truss was overkill and doubling the Union Pacific track exceeded the warrant of my Modellers Licence! By singling the line and juggling the angle of the tracks I got the bridge a better length, but that still leaves the problem of traffic on the single track UP line conflicting with portal emissions. I had meant to have just a couple of miles of UP trackage south of Vaughn, but I will extend the line to beyond Duran NM which will allow a long passing siding which should help sort things out. I hope....

Moral: Never post a screenie till you are happy with everything

:)
