BNSF Clovis Sub

Has any body had a sound problem with Clovis sub in TC1/2? The compressor noise can be heard all over the route and there is another noise that I can't figure out, it sounds like freeway noise, which seems to change with the speed of the train. I have a video of it so you can hear what I'm talking about. I don't have any problems at all in 06. Also it is happening even in the default route and sessions, not just in my modified sessions.

Looks great Dermmy. The Clovis Sub gives a true feeling of the southwest in a region very few have actually modeled. I hope to see if you could put this into consideration in Clovis 2:

- Moving road traffic and different traffic vehicles (Semis, pick-up trucks, and buses are common in that region)

-Grade crossings have working gates (All I can see is gate-less crossing towers).

Except for these 2 monor suggestions. I look forward to Clovis 2 and I'm currently enjoying Clovis 1. :)

That's because he has it set up to work in 04 which doesn't have many if any working crossings with gates. And the traffic causes a big FPS hit so he has that eliminated by default.

Interesting video, I noticed that your grade crossing bells didn't work all the time when you zoomed in close either, it surely must be a Trainz Classics sound issue in general then, as Andy originally made the route for TRS2004, which runs faultlessy by all accounts, and you yourself said it was OK working in 06. Hopefully someone will come along soon with a reassuring response.

Yes the grade crossing bell problem is in all of the routes in TC. It seems that the sound is overloaded in TC or something. Whenever an engine especially and some cars are near the crossing the bell sound starts chopping. And as I said this is not a problem in 06. It doesn't seem to matter which sound card is used either as I have it on two different rigs, one with a AC97 and the other with a sound blaster XFI.

Thanks for the comments folks

@ Chris - you can fix the traffic by clicking the 'traffic' icon in the objects tab in Surveyor and saving the route under a different name. The traffic mix will be default, which you can edit to suit, but not sure of the procedure - a quick forum search will turn something up. The crossing issue is two-fold. Most of the crossings are on a grade and many are at an angle. Getting mocrossing objects to fit was near impossible, and I have the traffic turned off anyway. I run the route with huge draw distances (3000m at least) and the cars eat up fps.

@bnsf50 - the TC3 sound issue is I believe a 'feature' being addressed in TRS09.

uh-oh

hi, i just downloaded your clovis sub and for some reasone adair and alistair have no trains and it appear they arent even there, and none of the trains are loaded up with trailers or anything and ami wont move,i am only missing <kuid2:113556:11104:1>,and i cannot download the custom hud v2

wow - that's an awesomely constructed sentence!! :p

If drivers don't have trains then you are missing content! The quoted kuid is Franks UP Ex-CNW C40-8 available here, so let's assume that Alastair and Addair both have one in their consists....

If you can't download the custom HUD using CMP/Helper/Whatever use the ftp link from the DLS download page and download it manually. If you don't know how to do that, post back.

No idea why Ami is not moving - probably a consequence of the missing locos.

If your trainz are not loaded, then you are missing more content. Download this http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS_viewasset.php?AssetID=68976

Hopefully that lot gets you going....

Andy ;)

I must say, this is one of my all-out favorite American routes. It's big, long, perfect for barreling down a pair of tracks in an SD40-2 for a couple hours, and it reminds me so much of where I last lived in America. Arizona was kind of an empty place...

On a slightly different note, I'm missing these assets which are required for the TRS2006 session, any idea where I might find them?

Thanks Wilee

Everything you are missing is linked to from this page - scroll to the bottom. You need:

138423: One of Joram's 86' Boxcars (RRMods)
219472: Nikos2's CSX C40-8s and Gp40-2 - don't forget the dependency packs (USLW)
95761: Modified BNSF 5-car stack set from CNR (TPR)

Empty steel coil cars and bulkhead flats make their way back eastwards. The coil cars and SD40-2 leasers are new content from RRMods - great stuff!

Andy :)

Never enough coil cars, and thanks for the comments guys...

Driver's eye view approaching Dunmoor...

...and a bird's eye view leaving. Still a lot of texturing and tweaking to do, but the basic arrangements at Dunmoor are sketched in.

If anyone is interested this is around milepost 817 and the next release will end at about MP780, so 35 or 40 miles to go. I have traditionally released a new route around Christmas time, but absolutely no chance this year. Maybe Easter, maybe later???
