BI2 Industry-Extern: and Normal. How to you use it?

I have spent several hours now digging for information on using the External or Normal production feature on the BI2 Industry tracks. I presume it is to somehow attach similar industrial tracks so that the commodities relate to each other. I found an older LARS ProtoLARS tutorial which told you every thing but that ONE feature. I have found indications that another file IndustRail_3_Documentation.zip was available. I attempted that through while my Anti virus screamed at me it was a dangerous download site. I did it anyway. Now I have to clean up the mess that caused. And the Compressed file still refused to open so I could get the knowledge that I sought. Which is HOW to Choose the External or Normal Production Feature. Also It might be helpful for The Download Station have a Category for Tutorials. Where some of the wonderful work that has be collected and shared by the users could be exchanged. While that could help someone in the future. My problem is still here. How does one set up those Features in the BI2 industries? It can't be so complicated one can't just respond. I don't want to fight with another questionable download site.

Sorry to bump an old thread. But I dunno about the OP but I still can't find any info on the external option in protolars. The tutorial doesn't appear to contain anything about it..

Davie what do you want to know a bout ProtoLars INDs?
How to set them up or how to interact with each other?

Its the extern option I have no clue about. I read you could make two protolars industries work together or at least have some sort of chain/process.

I don't know how to post pictures here so if you will contact me on team speak
I can post the pictures there and explain how to set them up. Also there a box on the DLS that will do the samething
with all INDs. Called Industry Link (fixed) <kuid:160293:11001>

I heard industry link won't work with ProtoLars? Will it work if its two protolars industries?

Thanks for your help.. you can give it a go with screenshots. I don't use teamspeak.. Is it really that complicated?

Ok I'll give it a try. If you want a lumber IND to product Lumber but only if another IND consume logs (no logs no lumber)
On the Lumber IND click where it say normal this will change to extern. Set initial to 15. Set load amount to 10.
Now for the Log IND set consume 20 leave the initial. Click on the name under extern a list of INDs you have on your route, click the one you named lumber. A icon will show and amount put 40 here. put 10 at the unload amount.
Now for every 20 logs consumed 40 lumbers will be product. (these numbers can be changed to what every you want.)
The Waybill & percent don't have to be changed.

Experimenting a bit with it now.

Can it be used to have two loading lanes from one industry that have the same queues so the same amount of products?

So I got it working how I originally intended :) Unloading automobile engines creates cars at another industry across the road :).

But the autorack loader has two lanes.. it seems I can't have it so the first industry loads both the two lanes that produce cars?
