Bethlehem Steel PBNE RR Big Pics

Hey!

I forget to tell that there´s a very good book about Bethlehem steel-railroading out there. You can order it at Peach Creek Shop....
Maybe you own it already, but I think its worth to tell you, as there are some track-plans in it which might help you.

Happy new year!

If you were on webcam right now, you'd know that I am almost literally drooling. Are you going to make the widegauge (7', IIRC) railroad that operated above the plant?

I went to school in Bethlehem in the early 90's and that place was still a railroad mecca even then. I didn't know about the widegauge when I lived there, but rather found out about it in Railpace.

If I can be helpful in any way just ask.

where did you get those blast furnaces with the big boilers

Those are not boilers. Actually those are either stoves to super heat air to raise the combustion to melt iron at about 3,000 degrees or collectors to capture the blast furnace gases to be cooled and used as fuel.:cool:

@stmsoccer:

If you are reffering to these, those are called "cowpers". Named after their innovator. Those are the stoves, as sethmcs explained above.

:)
