Believe History

Looks like a German streamiliner to me. Nothing really that amazing about it. I believe a more interesting German Streamiliner would be the one wiht V-Twin steam motors mounted on it's wheels. The USA captured the engine after world war two, and planned on studying the engine, but it just sat there until it was scrapped.

Rock On!

Sorry if I sounded a wee bit rude up in the above there, I just learned how to navigate that web page. Now I see how interesting the site is.

Uhhh... no. Where the hell did you get that from? O.o

Your "streamiliner" is not German, nor does it have V-twin engines mounted on its wheels. (just looking at it should tell you that much.)

The Pennsylvania Railroad T1 class of duplex steam locomotives was a last-ditch attempt by the PRR to build a steamer that could compete with diesel locomotives.

(prototype, production T1s looked more like the photo in the OP)

They were sort of successful. Apocryphal tales tell of these locomotives hitting 130mph in revenue service, but the PRR didn't believe in putting speedometers in their locomotives so this can't be verified.
Because of the long, rigid wheelbase, they couldn't operate on a large portion of the Pennsy's network.

They're all scrapped now.

EDIT: DISREGARD THAT, NOSCRIPT CHANGED THE PAGE TO SOMETHING ELSE.

ugh, I feel like an idiot now, sorry 'bout that....

EDIT2: It changes every time you reload the page. So I guess we'll never know.
Seeing a T1, the massive C&O turbine, a soviet cab-forward of some kind, a Southern Pacific cab-forward, the LNER W1 "Hush Hush" loco, some continental European streamliner, and a really big 4-8-2+2-8-4 Garrett.
