Belgium (question)

Hi again,

No to Transdem I only used GE. I was interested to know if there are plans to open the lines that they do not use at the moment. And if the southern section will get electrified. I am already at Bonniers (see picture) and looking at GE I note that Anderlues is not too far away, with it's interesting tram/bus depot, I may in time extend my layout to go there (as it used to). You will note that I have put tram signals in, as working 3 trams without them does not work.

Hello Carr,

You must be working at lightning speed .

I will see if I can get some extra information about future plans. It may take some time.

The railwayline 130A ( Charleroi Sud to Erquelinnes ( near the French border ) containes a stop in Thuin and Lobbes.

Best regards

Interesting to see my bus station buildings (UK) moved to Belgium! Please feel free to clone and amend the config to replace the given attached name with one in French or Flemish, as appropriate. Or change eg. 'name INFORMATION' to 'name name' then you can use the properties button in surveyor to give it a name of your choice.

By the way, a very attractive Belgain tram layout. I had a go back in my 2004 days at making representations of the classic Belgian coastal trams (diesel and electric).

My interpretation of Anderlues Tram and bus depot from GE.

Hello Carr,

I have sent an email to ASVI with some questions concerning the line. When reply is received, I will place the information in this thread.
Perhaps ASVI has some information concerning the line going to Anderlues.
I had a look in GE and the line seems to stop at some point ( no track visible ). There is no track visible going into the direction of Anderlues.

Best regards

Hello Ray,

Your classic Belgian trams will be used in my tram/train route. Every year, those trams are still used during festivities ( Trammelant ) in De Haan ( first Saterday of August ).

Best regards

Thanks Ray,

They are the nearest buildings that I could find that are actually on site. If you have the time have a look at GE at street level. The actual colours are a bit different but as I said in an earlier thread it's just an interpretation. As I doubt if the exact buildings are available in DLS.

Thanks

Kurt,

Went to edit above thread, not only does it take an age but can't save alteration. Yes the line finishes at Bonnier, but you can follow the old track bed right up to the Anderlues depot. Another interesting point is that there appears to be another depot across the road behind the existing one, which is being demolished.

Ray,

Thanks for letting me change your bus station items. As shown in picture above. I do not know the Kuid: to change the Maroon to yellow which would be correct for the building it supposed to represent.

I was wondering if any one knows where I can find a tram similar in design to those in second picture that have doors on both sides as the TEC tram has on the bottom picture. The one in the top picture has working doors on both sides and destination display but it has to turn on a loop as you can't turn the driver to the other end unless I give it a trailer, Which looks a bit odd. Thanks for your help and any suggestions.

Mark

Hello Mark,

If have received some information about the tramline Lobbes Bonniers to Thuin ( ville Basse ).
This part of the line is completely electrified. The line stops in Bonniers in position 50 22 12 N - 004 16 29 E.
From the depot ( and tram museum ) in Thuin ( ville Basse ) the new line goes into the direction of Biesme-sous-Thuin. This part of the line is not electrified and will never be electrified. This line is only for dieseltrams and perhaps one day a steamtram
At this moment, a part of the route into the direction of Lobbes is broken up due to necessary modifications ( track, wire, etc ).
They hope to get the job done as soon as possible.
From Bonniers to Anderleus there is no track.

When you have a look in GE and you go to Anderlues, you will actualy see a tramline, however this line is no part of the line belonging to ASVI.
Here is a link http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Hainaut_centre_SNCV_names.png. When clicking ( multiple single clicks possible ) on the map, you will have a view of the situation.

Now, about the trams in your answer #31 above. Did you download the trams from the DLS or from a specific website?

Best regards

I look forward to seeing more screenshots of your layout/route - and may post some of my rather basic 1930s to 1950s Belgian coastal trams which I made from a very basic diagram in a book and some online photos. I used them in the early fifties and always wanted to make models.

Kurt,

Many thanks for the information, I note on the Wiki map, the line is shown between Bonniers and Anderlues I also note how many other lines no longer exist. My trams come from a German web site all from 2004 nearly all have kuids missing and gave me a bit of work to get them to work correctly.

Ray

Also a big thank you, I have used your bus garages on other layouts, one of which I used as a tram depot. I look forward to seeing your Belgium layout.

Hello Mark,

Did you try Ray's electrical and diesel trams?

Best regards

Hello Kurt

Thanks for mentioning my trams. Mark - I must emphasise that these were very early models, when I had only 250MB integrated graphics and lacking 'modern' refinements like transparent windows - but I enjoyed making them. And for someone who started way back in the 1950s making model railway coaches from printed paper sides on wooden bases, I thought they weren't too bad.

I developed a layout in TRS2004 using them but when my old computer failed and I bought a new one (better) I didn't transfer it. Perhaps I should - if I can find it!

[/URL]Ray,

I have your trams downloaded but find it difficult to find a use for them. I think though, there is a need for European trams on DLS say from the 1900s to the 1990s as there are a load of English ones to choose from, without having to look at sites elsewhere.

My Thuin route is now complete apart from adding some finer detail. Screenshots to follow. Kurt mentioned that it is planed to run steam trams on the southern section of the line, so I thought I had better include one

Hi,

As Promised some screenshots of the Thuin Preserved Tram line. Locations: 1) Lobbes Bonniers. 2) Lobbes Ecoles. 3) Lobbes 4 bras. 4) Pont-du-Nord. 5) Thuin Cimetiere [Cemetary]. 6) Musee ASVi [Thuin Tram Museum].
I would like to thank those of you who supplied invaluable information about the line. I will post some other screenshots of Anderlues and part of line 89 in due course.
Please feel free to comment.
