Bakersfield To San Bernardino

A friendly texturing tip:

1. Try to use the small scale where you can, it gives more detail. Which could be a problem for some, so if you're not up to it, don't try it.

2. While painting, hold down [ or ] and texture your ground. It rotates the texture and gets rid of the "squares" of texture. Very good for blending textures.

Happy Trainzing, and Good Luck,;)
Scott.

-thanks scott and jamie.
-well glad i started on the cajon sub since there was no other vote for the mojave sub.
-i do rotate my textures but i do not hold down the but, instead i rotate(tap) like every other second. i read, i think from dermmy, that holding it down blurs the texture and puts a greater load on your system. i don't change the scale to often but i do depending where i'm texturing! for this test i followed some instructions from dmdrake's website but now i'm starting to think i cant use these textures for a couple of reasons. 1, there to old. they were made for 04, and 2, they dont blend well with others, except for its own kind!

-this texture stuff is such a nuisance so i decided to make it look like clovis sub for the time being! i need some hints or tips on some 09+ california style textures!

-i have a lot places detailed and ready for texture but i just cant come up with a good combination of textures. i guess i'll keep on working on scenery til i figure it out.
-that shot was for the hell of it to show that i am not idle and i am making progress, i'm just not taking screen shots! U can guess where this is if your bored!

What I'm seeing looks pretty good SoCal. I'm not the best at texturing either, so hopefully you can find what it is you're looking for.

Meanwhile, nine days later......

Things have gone a little quiet here, could socalwb909 possibly organise one or two progress shots for us?:D

Thankyou and Happy Trainzing,;)
Scott.

Yeah...We all are following your progress, and are in awe of your great textureing and tracklaying...So realistic ! I guess this is TS2010 ? It might just sway me over from TRS2006, and make me eat my hat. Not a Speed Tree in sight:D ...looks so realistic that it could have animated Speed Tumbleweeds blowing around ?:hehe:

-This is not the same as about 99% of everything else that is on this thread. If anyone missed it, trainz 2010 ruined all the rest and was not recoverable. since then i have had to start from scratch and my progress is not as fast as before, but in most cases thats ok cause my track laying, texturing, etc. might have gotten a little better. plus i've been playing battlefield bad company 2 (pc) which is an awesome game. but since it is beat, back to trainz! i've been trying to work on an area and finish it but i still find myself jumping around :( which is a bad habit for me. i plan on stopping at Cajon (sulivans curve) and go back and finish up everything in between to san bernardino. if you want to see other stuff click on the links below in my signature. anyway!

-Sorry for the delay. lots of life problems, and trainz vegetation problems. lots of testing too! btw i'm building in ts09 and sticking with it til i'm finished and release something. ts2010 sits and collects dust for right now!
