WOW

Hi, If Positive comments are incentive, you can count me in.I enjoy running a well done prototypical route, and yours looks to be right up there with the legends of Trainz route builders, the likes of Dermmy,G Fisher,Trainz HP and Trainz Italia. I look forward to running long Freights over Tehachapi with my SP and Santa Fe collections.Very Impressive! Patiently waiting,Randy

Wow. Very nice job on Mojave! Looks as good as if Dermmy modeled it himself! You have some real talent, patience, and eye for quality. Keep up the superb job, and you will have one of the most popular routes for Trainz, just like Clovis Sub, Marias Pass, and others.

-Today was just a lot of fine tuning. but i really need some advise. i want to find a way to get through the desert kinda fast. like maybe copy and paste fast. In this picture, is it too much or not enough? should i stick with the light sandy texture? if so is it to blotchy? My major details are only focused around the rails btw!

-theres not much out in these deserts except brush and joshua trees. but the pic was just a starter to see where i should go with it. here some other random pix!

-Any advise is appreciated. and by the way, the route is going to be based in the beginning of any year in the 90's, march, february, april-ish... with the exception of the 3rd line in the cajon pass. i had tunnels 1 and 2 in and everything but i decided to add the 3rd mainline!
- i dont want to be sloppy in my work so just wondering if anyone knows if copy and paste can provide a little faster work in a repetitive scenery scene. like i said before i suck at texturing! (credit goes to dermmy for the palette!)

Oh, I am just loving this! I think the texture is just fine, this is going to be fantastic once it's released!:Y:

One thing though (this is my inner pickyness coming out)
Since when was Norfolk Southern operating in the desert?

Great Work socalwb909, and Happy Trainzing!;)

I have not tried it but isn't there a way to copy and paste sections of a route? If so, do that but perhaps leave a section between each duplicated section with something different like a sign or structure.
Also, when you are in a hurry to get from point A to B, try portals as an option.

-we just happen to have an east coast visitor for this day

The route looks FANTASTIC! Just a question, did you use splines at all?

-no i did not use splines on the shrubbery! there is a group and a single. i first started with the group but then realized they float on uneven surfaces. so i used a whole bunch of singles, copy and paste everywhere!

Holy Crap.
Just Holy Crap.
This route might make me have to buy 2010.
Unbelievable detail, and your trackwork is flawless! This is just amazing!

-my work has been put on hold for the learning of Transdem! great program, better than microdem, excellent customer service!

A wise engineer once said, "Keep the work going and soon you'll have a great project." *record scratches* Heck, take all the time you need, we won't rush ya.

Hello all.

I notice it has been a full week since the last post in this thread, and I am wondering when we might see some more screenshots of socalwb909's fantastic layout.:D

Happy Trainzing,;)
Scott.

-Sorry scott, i took a minute to learn Transdem and i also found out that www.trainzproroutes.org was doing an updated version of there tehachapi and i noticed some screen shots in kingstonflyers pics over at www.rrmods.com
-So I moved my workings on my route over to Colton where the colton dimonds are. (BNSF and UP crossover) I just thought i would put that part i was working on, Mojave, on hold. Since i dont know of any game that has the UP colton yard in it or anything in the S San Bernardino / Colton area. maybe msts. pix coming soon!

I don't know about the TPR one, but I know that Kingston Flyer's is not going to be released.

Edit: Continued(I had to go to class as I was typing the previous) Anyway, I think that you should make it anyway, since you are making a much larger route than just Tehachape and it wouldn't look work as well if you just merged it with the TPR one.
