Its a superb representation of the Ma&Pa RR # 4
Before competition with Baldwin and other larger manufacturers forced the hands of smaller locomotive builders to merge and form Alco, the Richmond Locomotive Works offered this "state-of-the-art" 4-4-0 beginning in the early 1900s. Employed in main line and short mixed passenger service until as late as the mid-twentieth century, this thoroughly modern American was equipped with cutting-edge technology, such as air brakes, knuckle couplers, and a tapered boiler for improved steam efficiency.
