Did you hear about the man who hooked up with the C17?
Things got a little steamy. ;)

:hehe: :hehe: :hehe:

Nice shots everyone. :D

Q) Why should Thomas never be allowed to pull a train

A) As he is always tanked:confused:

Q) Why did the steam loco never sit down

A) As he had a tender behind:confused:

:hehe:

A Steamy update

As the subject seems to be steam, an update on my little depot project.
5N-WDepottextured.jpg

Looking NW across the Engine shed now with some texturing

6CarriageShedtextured.jpg

The front of the Carriage shed with textures done and Depot offices/facilities added

7Engineshedreartextured.jpg

Rear of Engine shed textured. Someone parked some locos in there just after I'd finished and left some oil patches

8Engineshedoilspots.jpg

And they had also gotten into the Carriage shed and left some oil drops there

9Shuntyardlead.jpg

I was thinking about how this would join onto the main layout. The comings and goings of the locos and passenger services going in and out and the freight trains going in and.....Oh. Forgot to put in a shunt yard for the wagons. So here is the lead track put in for the shunting yard. The purple spots are Priority makers placed to check the direction of tracks (some of which I had to re-lay).
Thanks
Glen
(They were bad Bearcat. No offence but the mods should take you out just for those jokes. ):hehe:

V set

They Were Originally Designated U sets like the original interurbans when first introduced in the early 1970s and were recoded V sets because of Vaccum Retention Toilets that were installed.

If you are looking for Information Sites such as railpage have threads with heaps of info and wikipedia has a large page on the units also

Sam

Yeah, I was reading the Wikipedia page on them too, but the page seems to lack any information about their top speed - not even Cityrail's own page on them shows speed information (to a West Aussie like me used to government propaganda constantly spruiking the speed of our trains at every opportunity this is quite odd. :p).

Changing the subject slightly,I'm quite late to the party but thank you for the awesome NSW catenery Davido - it was definitely well worth the wait. :D

Hmmm...named after a toilet :hehe:

Thanks Sam

Why were they designated "V" sets?
and does anyone have any info on HP , top speed etc?

Cheers
Davido

There info history on wikipedia about V-sets after U-sets and why they designed V-sets, the V showing that they were installed with vacuum retention toilets.

Top max speed 145kmh, I'm not sure you have to ask the V-sets driver :D

Cheers
Jason

Yeah thanks fella's, I had googled them and found most of that.
I was hoping someone may have some more detailed info but I'll go with what I have.

Cheers
