Australian screenshots

The XPT and Xploders both have strobe lights that flash when the horn is blown at night on the top of their cabs.

I have a route that I have been working on for months now that I am not happy with but I will take some shots to seek feedback if you guys don't mind.

EDIT: Just added 27 photos of the route to my Photobucket account. Click on the link below and go to the folder named 'Cowrie to Glenbrook'. :)

... Jerker, are your VR roundhouses the same height or are they different depending on each one? because the Timber one doesn't house an R class :hehe:

Nice work Steve! Can I create a moderner version of it using a similar trackplan?? So N's and A's can fly through an old abondoned station on the way to PHRA Workshops

Nice track arrangement there, Steve. Could we see it with some textures, please?:hehe:

@Matt, how many boards is that?? It looks good, especially that catenary someone recomended

Jamie

Jamie, thanks for the compliment. It's a single baseboard that I've been working on since Saturday. It looks good because you can only see a very small part of it; that part being track-side.
You cannot see this:

I've been using Google Earth to examine the area around Warnervale, on the Central Coast, and using Trainz to make a rough representation of the area.
It's not the best, but I'm happy with it.;)

Matt, your screenshots have been improving since day 1. I reckon what you've done so far is looking good! Nice use of the limited view to avoid seeing the grid. A WIP shot of construction is fine without texture, but I hate to see screenshots where someone thinks they are recreating real life, only the grass/rocks/trees/everything has been replaced by a grid.

Anyway, work continues (slowly) on my western NSW layout, with the container siding to the east of Linton (Bathurst) laid. Took a couple of Sillytoon C Class to shunt it, just to ensure the points and signals all work properly (they do). No shots of the siding itself, as it's (gasp) not finished beyond the track, but here's a couple of minutes later:

I think the 73 class is numbered 7308? I decided my fictional workshop type area would be an Austrac type setup, with private wagon overhaul/maintenence, as well as loco work. The 73 is the shunter. Why? I like 73's, and think it perfectly reasonable that a company would have acquired one to use as a shunter for a workshop like that...

I need to make the rusted tracks look more overgrown without ruining performance or their ability to be used occasionally - ie, they are out of use, but I don't want them looking like a jungle! Any suggestions?

Why not Weeds around the track Trent?? Not all on the track, or some small JVC weeds, with it being pushed down under the ground

Matt, you cheat!:hehe:

Most grateful for your comment Jamie, any encouragment is well appreciated. ;)

Now back to editing those Pandrol Fastclips which support the rails.

On a side note; Enjoy seeing southern progress screens under construction from the rest of you.

Hey Jamie, thank for the comment. Do whatever you want with the trackplan but This route has nothing to do with the PRHA apart from the fact that I'm making it :hehe: Its actually made from a request given to me long ago... This is atempt 2 at this :hehe:
If you are going to make a run through town you might want to make the whole platform area as straight as possible to allow for fast entry and exit of the town...

Thanks for the comment.

I think it looks good, i just hope no-one from that area is on the forums, and sees what I've done to their town!:p

Nice to see some shots from yourself; it's been a while.

Matt, you cheat!:hehe:

Jamie

Scott, could you send me those Timber Bridges. I would love them for my QGR MSL & Brisbane 1950's all in 3ft 6in.

Sadly Photobucket is down, i would post a picture of my "Gabba Route & Various Scenes. With my new creations; B18 No.84 [with Center Headlight] No.27 with Typical Top Mounted Headlight. Then Steph-PB's: 572 with centered headight and 531 with Cappchum Chim. & Typical Headlight.

Sorry cant give you something that is not mine to give out. But if you take a walk to the DLS and put a tick in the 2004 option in the search section of the DLS and select the username option then type in oldpossum you will find the bridges will appear under his name.
