Hi Everyone

@Ron, I helped out too, I am the one that nudged & bribed Mr.Cash to get thse things out there, and I helped out to make the sound set & asked him to make the Sunshine Carriages when I was at Rosewood. In return, he gives me tutoring for science.

Quick question:

What NSW wagons are currently available, suitable for use on a maintenance train running on a 80's-era layout?

Cheers,

Matt.

Thanks for the quick reply, Raichase. What about other states? Maybe there's something there I can pass of as vaguely NSW?

Any help appreciated,

Matt.

I'm not sure about the actual models existing (I doubt it), but the only "foreign" wagons we use in NSW are two-pack railset wagons that used to be owned by AN, but are now used by PN on some steel services to transport shortish lengths of rail from Whyalla, typically up north. Once they get to where they are going, the wagons are shunted off the steel train and typically hauled by a 48/81 to their destination.

Otherwise, in NSW we mostly use our own wagons. I recall a turnout wagon being made a while back, possibly by ad602000, although that's loaded with a concrete turnout, and those are typically made specially for a location, so you wouldn't see them running about willy nilly. NSW works wagons include RailCorp railset wagons, Freightrail/RIC/Railcorp ballast wagons, Railcorp sleeper wagons, Railcorp (ex SRA/Freightcorp as well as new build) spoil wagons, the track laying machine and jewelry van(s) (which is/are an ex louvre wagon redone by the then RSA - I think Natvander has made a model of this) and the ballast cleaning rake.

While I imagine some different wagons were used in the 1980's, I'm not familiar with them, but I don't think there are models avaliable.

A humble WIP showing my first foray into persisting with 3D trees (NOT speedtreez!!). Plenty to do of course!!

Anyone know where it is??

@Forest, going on recent discussions in this thread re: route creation, I'm going to guess somewhere along the Canberra line.

Probably wrong, but it can't hurt to guess.

Love the screenie, too, by the way.

Matt.

Narellan is my opinion. Is that a hint for me to get back to work? :hehe: Looking very nice Forest. Apologies for the very belated reply to your email. I will endeavour to have it sent by tonight.
