I'll throw in my "Pair of ex-P's by fading light" as random shot representing NSWGR today...

Ahhh yes, the three and a half year long wait is nearly over for the VAJ/VAJM and reclassified VAJQ coal hopper which has now been birthed in to the virtual life of Trainz. Thanks for your display Scott!

Guess I'll think twice about taking on such projects that never seem to get finished. Special thanks to Williamg for finishing it off in just a few hours.

Cheers,

Yikes!! Try saying that lot multiple times without going mad!:hehe:

@Davido, :mop::udrool::udrool::udrool::mop: Bugger me if that ain't the approach up to Woy Woy tunnel from Wondabyne. God, it looks realistic.

Nice work from all who've posted screenies.

thats a great shot Davido, where did you get the 38's from?

I believe, from past discussions about those lovely creations in this thread, that they are in fact, Davidos'. There are a number of 38 class loco's on the DLS. I think:o that user 3830 has several versions, i could be wrong though, just search for NSWGR 38 class.

A busy moment at Barfold, with a full compliment of trains, with a down suburban, an up suburban, and two up freights fighting with suburban passengers services.

I was driven mad long before I signed up! ;)

You'll find your answer on page 54.

After refreshing my knowledge of P54, may I say that the answer is definitely not there
The Marlboro C38 was made pre 2004, maybe even pre UTC :)
I know as I had a lot to do with Marlboro in those days, as did many others including AD602000.
The Loco is not hosted on VicTrainz (the original host) because after Peter (AD602000) built and later upgraded his own version of the C38.
It is a great engine, and Peter ever prolific with his constructions will be most happy to admit, I am pretty certain, that Davido is the master builder of NSW prototype in Trainz.
I do not have a copy of Davido's engine, as I believe it was done for David's own use. I think David does much better texturing than anybody else in Australian Trainz, however maybe Zec can do as well?
Texturing does a lot to improve a model, I think anyway :)

Marls 38's were designed for 2004. UTC did not really support Steam very well at all - remember that the beta lead in time from UTC to 2004 was quite long in the beta stage - IIRC I was playing with beta copies up tp 12 months before it was on the market.

As to Marls 38 it was only ever a beta - never finished - and look very sorry unless your got it - your not going to get a copy - lets get over it an move on. But also 8 years on it is rather dated.

One function on Marls 38 that I have never seen was the use of the panto function and loco number function to select and display name boards on the front of the train ie Newcastle Flyer and Central West Express.

I'm glad I was wrong! In the hope it would bring someone along who knew. :)

Thank you Rod and Bearcat for your generous clarifications of clearing this matter up. ;)

Rod, you are far too kind. I'm certainly no master builder and with steamers, especially, I'm a novice.
For a long time my C38's had a diesel engine until our old mate Eric helped me out with a spec.:hehe:
Maybe one day I'll get them to a stage where I'd be happy to share them.

David,

Fictional or not, I can think of only one thing that would lend even more realism to what you have already managed to achieve: Oyster farms!

That would make a beautifully realistic scene even more so. The atmosphere that you have managed to capture is very, very close to the Mullet Creek (Wondabyne) area, and a few oyster leases would nail that look into place.
Trust me, i live there, and I am being fooled!

Honestly, I cannot convey to you how beautifully realistic and atmospheric those shots, the last one in particular, are. You don't even need the trains in the shot!

Thank you,

Matt.
