I just have two questions (hopefully i'll post some Victorian shots later).

1- What signals are used in Victoria (between Albury and Melbourne)?
2- Not to sound like a gimme-pig, but would it be possible for someone to make a telegraph spline please? I can provide diagrams and textures (poles, cross arms, insulators).

Thank You,

Chris,

Chris,

There are several telegraph pole splines on the DLS. Just search 'Telegraph.' That easy.

Nice shots from everyone the last few days, as well. Plenty of gems, in amongst the rubbish!

This ain't one of 'em!

Matt.

The Overland 1883

Hello Everyone

@Steve: Whats the name of the bridge, I can not seem to find it on Victrainz. I am working on some SAR RX Bogies, so anyone keen to help me out with the animation. Just PM/or Email myself.

Great Railway Shots [especially from my home state of South Australia, keep the flag flying boys!!!], well I better get back to school-work :)

Most Kindest Regards
Michael Gitsham

YES! I agree! :D The bridge is one of the many VR ones by Jerker built for the Bairnsdale line, there up on Victrainz storage...

From memory, the only ones on the DLS are single and double cross-arm telegraph poles (with four insulators per cross-arm, I think), where as the general style used in eastern NSW and Victoria have four to five cross-arms, with six ceramic or glass (uncommon, but styles such as CD-121, CD-420, CD-421, CD-422, CD-423 and CD-430) insulators on each, and the top cross-arm only consisting of two low-voltage ceramic or glass (A.G.M. Pl-3 CD-590) power insulators (victoria).

is there such a thing as a track that would suit a qld route that has the electrification poles already built in with it?

hello
Jamie, that looks great must around 1983-1984
also is that tram from tramiejono and both overheads frm victrainz?
NO that tram is by me bearcat It was put on the DLS by tramiejono with out permission. :'(  :( .

The same goes for the South Australia H tram ....

if you want more details on the matter do a fourm search

I've not seen any reports regarding this. If you wish, drop us a ticket at the helpdesk. May be a little while before we can look into it, but it will be looked into when we get up to it.

There was a rather heated thread in screen shots about this about 12 months ago, IIRC Electro and Paulzmay were also involved, http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=42247&page=2

He did admit he had used my source mesh and the up shot of it at that time was he was meant to upload a new version and was meant to give credit where credit was due, but as far as I know it never happened.

But this is still going, example of my trams being displayed as some one else's work stating that the O/P was his work?
http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=37678&page=7

The whole thing left me very annoyed and have not really had a lot to do with trainz and have only just had another go at content creation.

The Rest of the Sydney trams guys are long gone, Transit who was also working on H tram with me has left the community as he felt he had been stabbed in the back by Johno and will never return, Wazzer has passed on FarmBoyEngineering has just good barmy and I still get the odd email from Eric. Not much chance of putting the band back together but credit were it is due would be nice.

I'm not sure about the tramway overhead, but the rail catenery looks like the BR overhead that has come included with TRS since 04. It looks better than the old built-in Auran QR catenery, but sadly the overhead wire's height is lower than the Auran wire, meaning most electric trains' pantographs will be higher than the wire.

Raising the spline height doesn't help either as the pylons have an annoying centering pole underneath that becomes visible in the centre of the track if the overhead's height is raised. Ah well, it still looks good anyway. :)
